>George Lucas says AI is here to stay and "there’s nothing you can do about it. That’s progress, it’s the future.”
>“In the future there will be entire blockbuster films made by one single creator in their basement using AI."

>We WILL automate cinema.
>Don't like it? You're an anti-technology luddite!

>"If you look at the history of technology, the people who oppose innovation have always lost, without exception. No one has ever been able to successfully put the genie back in the bottle."

miserable old man
>>
>>221809762
What an asshole
>>
He is not wrong though. It is not going away, as much as some of us would like to pretend otherwise.
At the end of the day, it will just become like the advent of sound, or dubbing, animation, or CGI, or VR, etc. A tool to be used (or misused) by anyone.
>>
>>221809762
so instead of sitting on his ass telling people what to create on the computers, he's gonna sit on his ass telling people what to prompt on the computers
>>
Who is "we"? Is he trying to make a movie?
>>
>>221809821
Audiences are rejected AI slop. It will never take off.
>>
>>221809762
He's right. It doesn't matter what we do. These companies have been stocking upon RAM in prep for the AI takeover. It's basically gonna be like how not every had a TV, now everyone has one. Same with computers, now phones.
They'll come a point where companies will require you to have AI to get job opportunities, the same way everything needs your phone number. If you don't have AI, you'll be a weirdo. It'll be like walking around with a flip phone.
All it'll take is the a new iPhone, and people will gobble this shit up. We're fucked, bros
>>
>>221809762
And Prequeltards unironically defend this fucking hack.
>>
AI content is boomernip so I'm not surprised at this take
>>
If it makes the chuds seethe then you know he's right
>>
>>221809762
>>“In the future there will be entire blockbuster films made by one single creator in their basement using AI."
cool, so why do we need him? or any hollywood pedo ring visionaries
>>
>>221809762
>NO we will NOT demonstrate the uses of the said technology in entertainment
>we will simply state over and over again that it's inevitable
I mean fair dinkum it's effective at drone-striking children but I don't see what that has to do with cinema.
>>
>>221809909
You mean the loud vocal minority who never actually spend any money dislike something? Oh no! That'll show them! Ignore the old people with all the capital who can't tell the difference and young generation who eat it up...
>>
>>221809909
By your own very words, you are declaring "slop" to be rejected by audiences. Of course audiences will reject inferior uses of the technology.

Let's say decades from now when the technology is mature, a director has the perfect actor for a particular script. Problem: they can't speak the language, at all. Which is a major barrier.
Let's say the actor delivers their lines flawlessly in their native tongue, and a complex ML model renders it into the correct language. This is far from improbable by the way - we could probably do it now with a VERY large amount of trial-and-error and training. And I'm not talking about "hurr durr dubbing with more steps", I'm talking about the exact translation of speech and body movement into the ultimate test of acting ability and technology until it passes the AI-equivalent of the Turing test/Pepsi challenge.
Just an example, maybe you can think of a better one.

But it's just technology at the end of the day. You can use it to help a work exceed previous limitations, or you can do LETS REBOOT BATMAN FOR THE 420TH TIME LOLOLOL.
It is simply a tool.

>yes I know most retarded industry execs will say "Actual talent?! I ain't paying for that shit! Just have ChatGPT v69.1 shit something out. I've got underage whores to pay here!"
But again, that's just misuse of technology.
>>
>>221810114
no, the young people who think every frame of gen AI slop kills 50 polar bears and evicts an immigrant family to make a data center
so weird how you forgot that
>>
>>221809762
Based George is right. AI Chads won and luddites got btfo as usual.
>>
based ai taking away the woke sloppers jobs
>>
>you can do all of this with computers now intensifies
>>
>>221810114
>crying hysterically about how someone else is going to pump more funding into his slop-porn machine for him
Let's see how that one works out for you.
>>
>>221809762
He's saying that thinking everything is going to turn out like Industrial Light & Magic effects when 90% of it is just gonna look like those Bigfoot Vlog videos where Bigfoot changes appearance at every scene transition
>>
>>221810167
I don't know about you but we've been using the equivalent of LLMs to analyze data since THE 60's.
>>
>>221809762
Ai is just cgi anyways . What difference does it make ? Besides stealing copyrighted material
>>
>>221809762
He also predicted CGI and Greenscreen.

Scorcese scoffed him, and built an entire city for Gangs of New York. Now he makes cgi cartoons with ai de-aged actors where they even greenscreen tennis courts and restaurants
>>
>>221810316
several years after jurassic park, even longer after T2
>>
>>221809777
Because he's willing to embrace new technology and acknowledge its upsides?
>>
>>221809909
>Audiences are rejected AI slop.
I thought jeets were meant to be pro-AI?
>>
>>221810352
Jurassic Park barely had any cgi. Meanwhile the entirety of Clone wars (and most modern movies) are greenscreen
>>
>>221810316
The CG comparison is particularly funny because I remember for a long time, you had a very vocal section of cartoon fans online who were insistent that "3D cartoons will never be real cartoons, bring back 2D!". That's gone now. I haven't seen an anti-3D boomer in what feels like a decade.
>>
>Is that one of those cameras I've heard so much about? Bah! What's wrong? Can't use a paintbrush?
This is what the anti AI crowd sounds like.
>>
>>221810543
Exactly! Or more recently the rise of digital artists, drawing on a tablet is a million times easier than normal. Didn't like that line? Insta erase. Need to change a color? Click a button. Ai art is just the natural evolution of the technology.
>>
>>221810543
No it's not, ai artists are like people who print out a picture of a drawing and then claim that they drew it.

>>221810679
>Ai art is just the natural evolution of the technology.

Wrong. Everyone is rejecting it because it takes no effort or individuality to make it.
>>
>>221810446
3D cartoons still aren’t as good as real cartoons
>>
>>221810679
Ink drawings always look better than procreate slop, though.
>>
>>221809762
It does not matter what you say or do. It is what will happen. He's explaining it to you like a child.
>>
>>221810819
So it's the lying that gets to you? If they just say it's AI all good? What about someone who claims a "real" art piece as their own? Is that better or worse?
And again again...loud vocal minority! Most people don't give a shit behind the process.
>>
>>221810038
12 months ago you were on here screeching AI would never render convincing video. 18 months ago you were smugposting about sixfingered hands and Woll Smoth Spagett LMAO. No doubt once the tech matures and AI movies start coming out you'll fall back on nebulous Muh SOVL bullshit to justify your continued womanly feels-based irrational opposition. Regardless, your opposition is irrelevant.

Governments want this to happen. Markets want this to happen. Entertainment execs want this to happen. Financers want this to happen. It's happening, they won't allow anything else, and so the tech *will* improve and eventually become part of the creative landscape, just like CGI. And home media. And cinema. And talking movies. And photography. And flight. And industrialisation. And every other technology that small minds have rejected and dismissed all the way back to Grug fearmongering and carping to the tribe about Grog's fancy "fire" thing that's dangerous and cheating and everyone should just keep eating things raw and freezing under furs like the Gods intended.
>>
>>221811230
>12 months ago you were on here screeching
I'm not interested in having a conversation with a mentally ill cretin who thinks that everyone he interacts with is the same person.
Kill yourself and have a good day!
>>
yeah well Lucas is a fucking lazy hack so that's not a surprise he loves it for filmmaking
>>
>>221811230
>once the tech matures and AI movies start coming out
Who will be platforming and distributing these movies. Could it be the exact same jews as before. AI is not gonna change a thing.
>>
>>221810446
well here I am, hand drawn 2d animation was timeless and it's completely gone now. I think disneys last one was home on the range? some film about cows starring roseanne bar
>>
boomers love AI slop more than anybody else
>>
Let the masses eat shit I don't care. I am thankful this medium inches closer toward death with every passing day.
>>
>>221809909
Not true. I go outside and I see AI in small shops everywhere
>>
>>221810114
>young generation who eat it up...
Out of touch

>>221811925
Those shops are owned by boomers and they sell to 45-and-ups
>>
>>221811925
Does that instill confidence in you, the consumer?
>>
>>221809762
based
>>
>>221810316
>Lucas
>Scorcese
Neither one of them made better films with CGI than what they were doing before it went mainstream
hahahaha
Ai will just even shittier films
>>
>>221811917
Its funny that they like it just because they think it will hurt younger generations getting a job.
Like most of these people are already retired and they are STILL mad at younger people existing. Holy shit man, just let it go
>>
>>221809762
AI is fine when you use it as a tool to preform the tasks you have the skills preform yourself, but faster
AI as substitute for the lack of skill or knowledge is cancer
>>
>>221809909
Audiences have already proven that they will eat AI slop when Marvel movies made back to back billions. Or are we really going to say those films aren't indistinguishable from AI slop
