Don't worry, this won't be an issue for much longer because film is gonna be viewed as a thing of the past sooner rather than later. Right now the medium (like most artistic mediums) is in its death throes. Of course, people will be making new films and paintings and whatnot for quite a while, but the cultural relevance that people attach to the art will eventually become practically nil.

It's never pleasant when something reaches its end stage, but acceptance can always make it easier to cope.
