>>
jellyfin for the well-adjusted film connoisseur.
plex for the no-hassle dudebros.
streamio for the tryhards.

i had a iir 200 doller plex pass for many years and it was a great program, however they started fucking it up too much trying to pretend its not a program for piracy, so i switched to jellyfin, which isn't as good, but is good enough and free and they don't pretend its not a program designed to steal ip from hollywood studios
>>
>>221813712
nta but Stremio is a fucking pain to compile on linux. But if you're on Windows or Android, I don't see why it's not the best choice.
>>
For me, it's a USB hard drive.
>>
>>221812872
I double click on the file and it open in Media Player Classic.

imagine being a plex paypig.

external hard drives.
>>
>>221812872
Stremio + AIOStreams + Torbox has 95% of everything to stream in 4k at the click of a button. Plus they're based in some shithole country so won't be taken down like RealDebrid

I used to use an external hdd/HDMI cable, then moved to samba media server, then moved to Plex, then jellyfin, and now stremio is the absolute ultimate hassle free unbreakable setup imo

Tubi, like the trve patrician.
Pluto TV sometimes.

Fucking based. Jellyfin AND Plex plus Sonarr and Radarr via qbittorrent for me.
>>
>>221816020
Can you teach me your ways?
Stremio also let me connect to my 4K TV
>>
>>221812872
Jellyfin because it just works.
I tried to set up a Plex server for a sibling yesterday and it just refused to let me claim a fresh server. It's ridiculous that I even need third party authentication to "claim" my own server.

I dont need some shitty 3rd party app to stream anything
>Open in VLC
>Cast to my Chromecast hooked up to a 4K TV.
>>
>>221812872
I use Jellyfin for myself so I can stream my HDB internals but for other people I just set them up with stremio because normies don't care that much about quality.
>>
kodi
also, fuck you

I've been using streamio with torrentio for a year and it's been f****** great and my girlfriend and I watch everything. Never messed with criterion or whatever you're talking about. So f*** off
>>
>>221816110
I use torrentio and stremio with real debrid which I guess is bad?

But anyway

Tubi is good for finding obscure stuff but the quality is like 2009 youtube.
>>
>>221818531
the quality has never bothered me.
I'll still watch 90s VHS tapes, in fact I think watching say, The Faculty or The Crow on VHS fits the overall vibe of those films.
>>
>>221817941
they are not "kino". they are slop consumerist horseshit designed to sell you shit. you just like them because you grew up with AS bumpers so it reminds you of your childhood. im more concerned about actually watching the series/film that im watching. dont care about whats around it.
>>
>>221818910
bitcrushed compressed digital videos look a lot worse than the analog distortion of vhs.

plexkeks in shambles
>>
>>221817721
What’s your setup for this? Would love to do this for the other people using my server
>>
>>221819400
Setting it up is actually crazy easy, this isn't the exact tutorial I used, but it's basically the same steps. In my experience, this will work on basically anything that isn't a netbook.

https://smarthomepursuits.com/how-to-install-ersatztv-to-create-iptv-channels-in-plex

It takes some tweaking once you get it online, to figure out how the scheduling and all works, but once you get it running you can just leave it and it'll cycle through whatever schedule you set up.
>>
Plex has a crack at playing anything once you dial it down a bit.
