A big blockbuster shot entirely on locations and huge lavish sets, hearkening back to the grand epics of the golden age of Hollywood. Nowadays literally all of this would be CGI slop, fake, lifeless and ugly, with actors standing in empty blue voids wearing pajamas, told to imagine they are in the hot desert that will be added later in post.

Dumb zoomer, you can literally count all the cgi effects it has on two hands. How does that negate all that was stated? Even the sand storm scenes with CGI face was shot on location.

Retard. CGI in almost every second scene throught the whole movie.
Literally first minute is almost all digital and greenscreen and that's only one shot.
