It used to be that the Legend of King Arthur was an absolute media staple and easily one of the most common types of "fantasy" movie produced. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a parody and pastiche of these movies (and TV shows.)

There are a few jokes that stand on their own, but if you have not seen any old King Arthur movies or TV shows, most of the humor of Monty Python and the Holy Grail is going to fly right over your head. It's akin to watching Galaxy Quest without having seen a single episode of Star Trek or any of sci-fi space opera. You're not going to get it.

There comes a point when slopmericans have to accept the reality that their media sucks massive dicks and no amount of special victims unit whining that they don't have the intelligence to laugh without a canned laugh track telling them it's ok to do so.

Holy Grail is one of those films I appreciated as a middle schooler because it was wacky and lolsorandum xD

As an adult though, I appreciate it a lot more for how it has a number of running gags that eventually collide and payoff by annihilating each other.
The coconuts start off amusing and goes off the rails into some boring arguing about how it got there by swallows in a larger 4th wall commentary.
Flash forward to the bridge troll that's defeated by that same pointless argument a full hour later.
Same thing with the ending. The French guys arguing turns into them really having the holy grail the whole time, then collides with the ongoing police investigation.
That's funny to me.

There’s almost an underlying logic to the film which I enjoy very much. Every time the audience almost understands what the rules are, they change.

The Holy Grail, not so much.

Or you just see it as lolsorandumb humor.

But, yeah, Monty Python and the Holy Grail shouldn't be your first King Arthur movie. Monty Python and the Holy Grail should be a movie after you've already seen another King Arthur movie and/or TV show (preferably several)

That was the magic sauce of Flying Circus. If you only know the sketches taken on their own then you're really only getting a fraction of the experience. Many of the sketches and transitional bits mesh, overlap and call back to each other in clever and silly ways.

The so called "legacy media" is dead, it was dying for decades but now even the most successful cable/newspaper propaganda outlets today have audiences in the mere hundreds of thousands which means they effectively have no reach.

This is why namefags, e-celeb faggots and other "celebrities" were manufactured. The "streamers", the "podcasters", basically anyone other than the anonymous shitposter who is the ONLY source of truth on the internet is compromised either directly through companies like Night Media or through their own incentives and objectives, and self-interest, for example: Twitter pays you based on the amount of traction your posts get, Twitter controls the algorithm, thus those who post on twitter or reddit or any other site with an "algorithm", can be steered in any direction that the owners of those platforms wishes.

This is the same for the front page of YT, for the front page of Twitch, for what you are "recommended" on Instagram, or Facebook, or Twitter, TikTok etc. they can all be manipulated to push views and opinions desirable to the platform owners, this is why jews spent YEARS trying to get the Chinese to be forced to sell TikTok. It is much more insidious system than legacy media because it makes you believe that what you are watching, clicking and swiping on, is based on your own "interests" and the algorithms dopamine filled feedback-loop.

So companies like Night Media were created to curate "baskets" with faces and names for every type of viewpoint, and if a certain belief system or viewpoint is too toxic for the walled gardens then it is systematically banned and censored across the entire platform.

"Influential" is a company that manages these "baskets" for Night Media and uses AI to automate the curation of all of these mouthpieces that become the "faces" of their respective "buckets" in real time and influential has access to MILLIONS of "talent" from twitch streamers like Hasan Piker to Only Fan Whores and everything in-between.

I've never met someone who has both seen and disliked that movie. Even people who hardly watch movies like it regardless of gender. This bitch is just retarded.
>>
>>221826240
Most streamers or youtubers of whatever just say whatever gets them views. I doubt this bitch even disliked the movie genuinely, but someone criticizing a universally beloved classic is more likely to get views than someone saying they like a thing everyone already likes. It's all fraudulent disingenuous bullshit designed to steal your time and attention in exchange for money.
>>
>>221815494

The movie is an IQ test. Those who don't think it's funny are low IQ that think Family Guy is funny.
>>
>>221821228
My favorite little joke is how Arthur throws his weight around by introducing himself as Arthur King of the Britons and explains his grandiose quest over and over again but tells the 9 foot tall Grand Marshall Knight of Ni him and his knights are but "simple travellers" as if he's either deeply physically intimidated and trying to lie his way out of the woods or getting said "Ni" at is that terrifying to him that he forgets who he is.

When I was a zoomer I thought it was clever and funny that Arthur defeats the bridge guardian with his swallow lore.

The lolsorandom parts are the worst parts.

Conintutional peasant,
the femme “bride being married off” who is actually a guy being ‘recused’
The black knight always triumphs,
Brave sir Robin ran away.
The knights of Camelot song,
The nuns knitting exciting underwear,
^all gold.
Any one of these is funnier than any modern comedy movie.

Based. I still like Ali G, but I'll throw the baby out with the bathwater, I don't care.

>The knights of Camelot song,

When I was a child, our family dvd copy had a bonus of the Knights of Camelot scene rendered in Lego, and I spent about an hour going back and forth between the movie scene, and the Lego scene laughing nonstop at the cat being stepped on was a bird being bashed into the table in the Lego version, and that it used the same ridiculous sound for both.

>>

This goes only for the movies though, the Monty Python tv show is aggressively unfunny fucking shit.
>>
>>221815494
The problem is that it is literally too funny so the lulziest piece of shit you know has bombarded you with all of the punchlines since the 7th grade. In a similar vein, Airplane used to be cutting edge humor and the Clerks Death Star independent contractors conversation was like the funniest thing to a specific generation. But now? Jokes don't get funnier the more you hear them.
