Was The Simpsons harmful?
>>
>>221815558
It started out as a satire of the American sitcom which eventually became so popular it ended up reinventing the standard for the very genre it satirized which is mostly why every sitcom now feels so glib and hollow.

>we need to save the white race by getting more offended at jokes

>husband is the main breadwinner and head of the family
>mother is genuinely interested in raising her children
>parents are deeply in love and stick together no matter what
>boy has ambition and character, a future leader personality type who naturally questions unearned authority
>girl is smart, introspective and has deep convictions, but still extremely loyal to her family and upbringing
>3 kids, ideal reproduction rate
>middle class home and perspective, well-off despite working regular jobs
>largely white american town where neighbors know and talk to eachother and organize themselves to solve their local problems

yeah it was harmful, for the jews who try to take this away from you.

Yes. Normalises dysfunctionality and portrays it as charming. Portrays the male members of the family as the dumb ones and the females as the smart ones. Was influential in pushing progressive causes such as homosexual acceptance.

It's funny how the online right bulit their ethos with shock jokes about Jews, blacks, troons and so on and so forth, that these jokes became a borderline virtue signal, like an inverted verison of "trans rights are le human rights" shtick trannies do. A way to signal how epic bacon they are to their in group, in the same respect it created an echo chamber where these jokes were regurgitated enough to become safe, safe in that they were predictable, that they were never at risk of becoming offended themselves. Safe enough to where these people are now honestly offended by "Church is boring" jokes from Homer Simpson.

Early Simpsons constantly showed the family as broke
>>
>>221815623
People were tired of sickeningly sweet 1980s sitcoms with perfect families. Now they don't even make sitcoms about American nuclear families. Fucking Young Sheldon was probably the last one.

The Simpsons is a show about yellow people not white people

in one of the early episodes, Marge tells Homer something like
>Don't make me choose between my God and my man.
when Homer wanted to stop going to church
I think The Simpsons started out as much more genuine, but got increasingly cynical and critical

You can't be serious. The anti-nuclear power movement has been active since before the 1970's.

HUSBAND FAT
HUSBAND DUMB
HUSBAND BAD FATHER
HUSBAND NEGLECTFUL
HUSBAND HAS NO SEX WITH WIFE
HUSBAND PHYSICALLY ABUSES KIDS
HUSBAND HAS EMOTIONAL AFFAIR WITH COWORKER

yeah it is some terrible fucking bullshit but look (((WHO))) was behind it all

You can really see from some parts how it’s a show about different era. I don’t think that actually agressive and thuggish ”lower class” white boys like Bart exist anymore. Also men don’t drink like Homer did anymore.

>but got increasingly cynical and critical
That feels like that natural evolution for shows. They all just devolve into chaos if they live long enough because once a story has been told there isn't much left to it

While I won't disagree that some Simpsons episodes give a shitty message.
Is kinda ironic that this guy, of all EPISODES he could have picked, the one the chooses is the one where Homer gives up on Church.
Despite that literally at the end of the epsiode, Homer literally almost dies in a fire after indulging on his earthly pleasures and is his CHRISTIAN neighbor the one who ends up rescuing him and all the Springfield citizens to tried to convince him to return to his faith also go to his rescue.
Like, c'mon, if we remove the raunchy jokes and 90s references, this plot is straight up sounds from a more Christian 1950s show.
