Are there no autists working in Hollywood anymore? Was there not one guy who stepped up and gave Nolan a QRD on cultural receptions of the Homeric poems, a bullet point list of the significant literary interpretations of each book of the Odyssey, an entire catalogue of every painting remotely related to Odysseus for inspiration, a good costume and armour guy, experts on Mycenaean culture and architecture, ect ect? Or did he ignore all these people and throw his hands up saying “it’s going to be abstract”?

Wasn't there some early rumours and images showing that he was using that type of armor from OP's pic at first but it was deemed too ridiculous and mocked even here?

Good that they didn’t fuck this movie. It leaves it open for someone to actually adapt The Odyssey. This will be forgotten forever. Send it to Hell.

Must have been fake. He used a huge viking ship, for Christs sake. Then he cut Achiles from the Odyssey, and replaced him with a character from a Roman (!!!) epic.
He shits on authenticity and source material.

Better, but still has hollywood's favorite "historical" goto- poorly stitched leather

They didn't used leather back then?
