Apologize
>>221825833I never doubted him. French Dispatch and Asteroid City were two of his most mature, sophisticated and stylistically refined films to date, but midwits can't seem to see past the live-action diorama aesthetic (or rather can't see the artistic worth in it) and can't move past his scrappier early work. Simply preferring one to the other is a different matter, but the way a lot of people just refuse to engage with the stuff his new movies are trying to do feels almost willfully stubborn.
Isle of Dogs gets an A for effort but the movies are too reddit. In short, he's a gaylord.
>>221825996I loved Asteroid City, but I was drunk when I watched it. I might give it a sober rewatch
