Do you invest in highly valuable /tv/ collectables?
>>221837238are tv collectables the opposite of every other kind? where the plentiful stuff from the highest selling franchises are the most valuable
>>221837238that ticket stub ain't worth shit
Why would you have the ticket some random schmuck used displayed on your shelf?
>>221837238The case that ticket is kept in is legitimately worth more than the ticket it's keeping in "near mint" condition.
>>221837238I invest in making fake trading cases and selling them to retards on fb marketplace. Yeah that's totally a legit first edition Charizard you just bought for $400.
>>221837436>>221837238I still have my Ep. III ticket stub.Dont know why. Never really cared for collecting stubsI remember being a teen, finding the stub in my pocket from the day before, Thought (that may be the last star wars movie i ever see in thetres)Shrugged and threw it in my drawer. It pops up again from time to time and i checkle and jam it deeper intonthe drawer
>>221837443Huh?
I have absolutely no idea what it would be worth but I have a stub from "Get Carter" from the Egyptian Theater in Maryland from before the theater actually opened. My mom wanted me to take her to the mall way back in 2001 and there were people walking around giving out free passes to see a movie so they could do a dry run for all the workers before the official grand opening.I could still smell the fresh paint on the walls.
>>221837520He said the case that ticket is kept in is legitimately worth more than the ticket it's keeping in "near mint" condition.
>>221837443Na paper is worth more than plastic, it's harder to produce paper compared to plastic
>>221837512>Thought (that may be the last star wars movie i ever see in thetres)but it wasn't though, was it? consoomer manchild faggot. how many funko pops do you own?
>>221837238I saved a bunch of stubs from over the years. Many of them faded over the years and you can't read what movie it was. Time makes fools of us all
>>221837520The plastic in the case has a higher monetary value than the random piece of paper inside it
>>221837630>>221837717Oh, gotcha. My brain stopped working for a second there.
The only thing I collect is too obscure for anyone else to care.
>>221837669No funko pops... but i do have a complete collection of the Regia Marina from WWII in 1:1800 scale, and almost all the other famous capital ships from WWIIDoes that count
>>221837238I have some star wars postage stamps I bought in 2007 hidden away in the bottom of a box.I no longer share my 9 year old self's passion for star wars or think they are ever going to be worth anything.
>it costs ~$40 to have the PSA grade your shitKek.
>>221837238>Kinoplex tickets used to be 8.50
>>221837238>>221839156I really want something stupid PSA graded for the lulz
>>221839194it's called inflation retard
>>221837276Maybe back in the day. In the modern era when people are hyperaware that shit can be collectible, and where everyone has a digital receipt anyway, items aren't worth shit.An opening day original Star Wars ticket is worth something because Star Wars isn't a household name, and anyone who saw it opening day wouldn't have saved their ticket stub, so of course those that survived would be worth something.A ticket stub to arguably the biggest movie of all time, in an era with digital receipts, ain't worth shit. And the ticket in the OP's image isn't even advanced screening previews, opening day, or even opening weekend. Literally has no value.
>>221837679>Many of them faded over the years and you can't read what movie it was.The ink that thermal printers use (which is what every business has now) doesn't last long. I still have some stubs printed on dot matrix printers from the early 00s that faded a little but are still easily legible and stubs from 10-15 years ago that were so faded I just threw them out. Technically you can hold them up to a light the right way and still read them, but that's kind of pointlessI've heard thermal printer receipts have a bunch of chemicals in them that fuck up your endocrine system but idk
