>In Winston Groom's novel, Jenny is a much less central and less psychologically developed character than she is in the film. She is intelligent, idealistic, and independent, but she is also restless and unpredictable. Throughout the story, Jenny and Forrest have an on-and-off relationship. She genuinely cares about him at times, but she repeatedly leaves to pursue her own life, relationships, and ambitions. She studies, becomes involved in the counterculture of the 1960s, and later lives a bohemian lifestyle.

Wow! The Jenny in the novel is way worse than the Jenny in the movie. Thank God Eric Roth changed the character.

>They separate, reunite briefly at various points, and have a son together, but the novel concludes with Forrest living apart from Jenny, reflecting on his life rather than settling down with her.

LOL! The Jenny in the movie is kino.
