Sadly one of the most forgettable movies I've ever seen, I'd be hard pressed to describe a character dynamic from the story other than the fat dude being a total pushover and the totally not mormon actually being a thief heretic to his sect

Fraser deserves the praise for the effort he put into this role, but the movie is so shit. So melodramatic and corny, and it doesn't even try to Hide the fact that it's a stageplay. Aronofsky is a hack.

Obviously this is a Brendan board and I like Aronofsky but this movie just doesn't have enough depth to discuss. I did my part and saw it in theaters then completely forgot about it. A rare miss from a director who usually makes kino. I still think about The Wrestler all these years later.

fifpbp, she has every right to be mad at this guy for walking out on her and her mom for a guy who killed himself a short while later, then implicitly not supporting them financially so he could gift her a lump sum after she's spent most of her life living with her alcoholic mom in a trailer.
