associating negative opinion of this movie with incels/racist was genuinely a brilliant marketing strategy, and impressively pulled out to say the least
I saw a review on r*ddit (I know, I know) from a guy who watched it in IMAX and didn't like it, and overall gave it a 3/5, but 80% of the review, like 3 solid paragraphs, was him going out of his way to explain how the "controversies" didn't concern him, like he wasn't bothered by the casting or anything like that.
this movie created a precedent, where if you don't enjoy it you have to keep quiet, OR you have to go on a lengthy spree, explaining yourself and how you are not a racist, and not everyone is going to even bother listening to any of it
it's absolutely fascinating
