Have never seen this discussed on /tv/, what is the general consensus here?
Boring shit
the aliens are weird and non sequiturs
>>221841936Teddy is best guy.
Men simping for retarded evil women, nommater the age
>>221841936Its kind of a fucked up movie. On the one hand it wants to convince you this "kid" has a soul. But then throughout the movie it paints him as a purpose built device that has lost his purpose so he keeps trying to get it back. By the end they allow him one last time to do what he was built for. He doesn't grow. He doesn't find a path beyond his design. He stumbles through the ages until he can just be a substitute again. That movie with Robin Williams did the whole concept better. This one just ends up being a weird fairy tale. Its Pinocchio except he never becomes a real boy
>>221842389>Its Pinocchio except he never becomes a real boyperfect summary
>>221841995fpbpI saw it opening weekend>From the genius Steven Spielbergwas just lame pinocchiojude law scenes were the unintentional best
>>221841936not a very good movie, its more fantasy than scifi. my least favorite kind of sci-fi movie. its a scifi movie for humanity grads not engineering majors.
>>221842550kubrick wrote it out, spielberg just followed instructions
"Should have been Kubrick""Spielberg touched that kid""Dude aliens lmao""Based teddy"
>>221842615>a mediocrity followed a mediocrityexplains a lot
>>221842633See you next thread
>>221841995Filtered>>221842011Idiot or trolling, but probably both.>>221841936I liked it and therefore it is good. The ending kinda breaks away from the Pinocchio analogy, but still, definitely not boring.
>>221841936Jude Law has never been an A lister to me. Good look, very wooden. I’d put Bradley Cooper in this category too.
>>221841936>called AI>intelligence artificelleumm are they retarded? shouldnt it be IA?
>>221841936Both brilliant and deeply flawed. It is however what it is: Stephen Spielberg's last good movie.>>221842074This.
How does anyone like this movie? It is the poster child for heavy handed story telling. So on the nose it may as well be a rolled newspaper.Strangely Jude Law's purposeful overacting was the best acting and tied w Teddy as only interesting characters.4/10
Kubrick's version would have looked better but would have the same problem as Eyes Wide Shut; and older man divorced from the modern world and therefore prone to awkward choices. I think the movie would have been better with a puppet instead of a child actor. I've read the short stories the movie is based on and the mood is totally different from the movie.
Hey Joe, whatdya know?
>>221843017It's a French poster, you retard
>>221844262ok but what does french have to do with the words being out of order dumbass
>>221842684>The ending kinda breaks away from the Pinocchio analogy, but still, definitely not boring.Filtered. David became a real boy by becoming the legacy of humanity to the rest of the universe.
>>221842389>Its Pinocchio except he never becomes a real boythat’s the point of the film. something artificial can never be human or have human intelligence.
>>221842074the parents are psychopaths
>>221842011They're not aliens, they're post singularity Indians.
>>221841995Kek
