The third season's 80s summer vibe is probably the richest font of nostalgia but somewhat stupid. Four and five continue the stupid with gross self-importance.In a way I think Stranger Things embodies everything good and everything awful about "Peak TV." I don't hate it, though.

First season was lightning in a bottle. I think most of the other seasons had some good ideas and a few creepy moments, but could never really recapture the feeling.In retrospect I think they probably should have made it an anthology show with a loosely interconnected narrative. Even the title "Stranger Things" gives the anthology vibe.
