What causes someone to become a Nolan cultist?
Dishonest Filmmaking:(Quentin Tarantino, Alejandro González Inárritu, David Fincher, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Alex Garland, Paul Thomas Anderson, Nicholas Refn, Tom Hooper, Tyler Perry, Gaspar Noe, The Coen Brothers, Noah Baumbach, Denis Vilenueve, James Franco, Damien Chazelle) are intellectually bankrupt moral whores and charlatans; their films appeal to the modern phenomenon of the 'Pretend Epic' or Pseudo Cinema, often tied to the criticism that "It was a movie that thought it was a film" they have no ideas of their own and are filmed purely to have fancy essays made about them. They obfuscate their lack of insight under a smug impenetrable irony and often contain scenes with disingenuous attempts at depth with characters spouting platitudes that the director takes VERY seriously. This directly panders to the IMDb reddit sensibility of quote circlejerking since these hacks are masters of the fools wit, "Quipping" (Not to be confused with the marvel co-opting of the word) , it sounds smart, cool and worldly but in reality there's nothing of substance, the Revenant's attempt at spiritualism was cheap and laughable and whilst someone like Malick has considered his philosophy, Inaurritu wears his introspection on his sleeve to give his film a false sense of depth with pathetic sermonising.THIS is Dishonest Filmmaking. They leech the greater works that preceded them; like The Enemy being a rip off Eraserhead, but they have nothing else to say. They act under the guise of deconstruction with surface layer obvious 'social commentary' and a quirky forgettable score praised as 'innovative'. They are all inauthentic sycophants that rely on oscar buzz and post 9/11 detachment for relevance. These directors are hacks and will be forgotten to time.
Nolan fanboys are the Swifties of movies.
>>221848961first be a midwit
Feels good. Still not watching your slop.
>>221848961You just know that he likes to watch his woman being treated like a fuckmeat by a bull
Who's weirder Nolan worshippers or Snyder worshippers? Nolan makes alright popcorn movies at least
>>221848961Casting an ugly sheboon as Helen of Troy, apparently.
>>221850250Nolan had a few(2) good ideas for his movies, Snyder was always a director for ads
>>221848961He is basically the non-retarded Zach Snyder.
>>221850341Nah I liked watchmen
>>221848961I don't know, it just happened to me. I watched his films I guess. It seems this board can't even do that.
>>221850365The only difference between Nolan and Snyder is that Nolan has more fansActually sit down and watch The Dark Knight and Watchmen back to back. They're very similar films
>>221848961When was the moment your father failed you causing you to become and impotent little troll who's never felt a loving touch in their life?
>>221848961Easy answer.
>>221850375>>221850393watchmen is like the one good snyder film (happy to be proven wrong?) and its because he had such great source material to work from. The comic is a masterpiece, the film is just good.
>>221850250>Dawn of the Dead (2004)>300 >Watchmen his first 3 movies were decent. it all went downhill with Man of Steel but that is still good by todays standards.
>>221850439>The comic is a masterpiece, the film is just good.he also decided to change two major elements that really pissed me off.
>>221848961this very much resembles how divegrass fans talk about their team winning like they personally won the world cup
>>221848961A steady diet of cow dung
>>221851008>>221850439>>221850393Are these bots?
>>221851068what makes you think I'm a bot? I'm bored and will indulge you. NIGGER.
I only liked Memento, Insomnia and Batman Trilogy. I thought The Prestige, Inception and Interstellar were mid. I have never seen Dunkirk or Oppenheimer because I don't watch WW II movies. I didn't have strong feelings about Tenet and was mostly just happy Elizabeth Debicki and John David Washington didn't have romance like another movie I enjoyed Bumblebee.
>>221848961I'm amused at the people who now have to defend this movie. Even on reddit reality is settling in>Wait, so they actually scrapped "Nobody"?>Huh, his bed isn't made from a live olive tree?>The theme of the movie is trauma from war?.. fucking again? The only people that defend it are just trying to own the chuds, but even they have nothing positive to say about the movie itself.
>>221850250>Nolan makes alright popcorn movies at leastI don't like really Snyder movies but 300, Dawn of the Dead, and Watchmen were better "popcorn movies" than anything Nolan has made
>>221848961that's like saying hitler wasn't wrong because a lot of people voted for him
>>221848961Sub 120 iq.
>>221849011This post is gay and will be forgotten in time.
>>221848961>"side of history"why do faggots say this? especially over something like a movie. A movie that cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce AND was filmed in Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara.
>>221851145>how to rally leftoid retards to support your movie>make it about the race and gender of your cast>every leftist retard comes out to defend itevery time.
>>221851145holy cope. It's a good film and you've just cherry picked the most minor bullshit.Yes, the "nobody" bit sounds cool but I actually like they're willing to go without it. I think forcing in the "nobody" bit would remove some of the mystery and magic, make it cheaper. Just my opinion no need to get all leaky.>The theme of the movie is trauma from war?.. fucking again?midwit redditors. The war and its consequences are handled in a much more interesting way than you're implying with "war iis le... bad!"
You lost chuds
>>221848961> The wrong side of historyBut I choose Jesus Christ
>>221851204That's a fair assessment. Snyder is for meatheads, Nolan is for midwits.
>>221850250>Nolan makes alright popcorn movies at least... Maybe if your idea of a popcorn bucket is one with a dick poking into it.
>>221851294What did you like about it?
>>221851391A lot of things. I liked the slow reveal of the Trojan war most. The scenes of the war and the horse were highlights, building towards the sack at the end. I think it captured something really gritty and moving and unexpected about bronze age black operations world war.I also really liked every island and obstacle. The effects for Polyphemus, the pigs, scylla and carybdis. I liked how each was self contained, but together felt like an epic. Particularly liked the summoning, for its partial conclusion/reckoning for the Troy plot. I really liked Agamemnon's role in the film, how his personal story mirrored Odysseus, how he was handled respectfully and not just as a evil nutter.I liked all the shots of boats and sailing. It felt real, desperate, just interesting. The internal politics of the crew slowly changing and reacting to each event and time. The handling of prophecy and the Gods was a highlight at the 2/3rds mark, after the cattle. I found it almost profound. It asks an interesting question about Odysseu's role and burden. The God's are bastards? Or is it just because of his actions at Troy.I hope I've written enough to prove I'm sincere you fucking nigger loser. I liked Patinson and Holland. The return wasn't my favourite part but still good. Mentor, swineherd, dog, great. The obvious twist that the Greek veterans are the sea people still worked. The more complex politics of a war against the myth of it.What did you not like about it?
>>221850365More like Zack Snyder is the retarded version of Nolan.
