Why am I supposed to hate this again? Sure, the jungle chase was a bit too long and it looked videogamey and too ridiculous at times, but other than that it's not that bad. Cate Blanchett's character is the best Indiana Jones villain by far and she was so fucking hot in this it's unreal, Indy and Mutt's relationship is good and has a lot of heart, it carries on and honors the themes from Last Crusade. Aliens are cool and interesting. Soviets being the villains is great and fits with the times with all the communist hysteria and Cold War setting, unlike everything since that just rehashed Nazis ad nauseam. Indy and Marion finally getting married is a great ending. Why all the hate?

Temple of Doom is the best one because he's so over the top macho in it. The bridge scene is the most memorable and greatest part of the whole series besides the boulder scene in Raiders

It really isn't that bad until they get to the jungle and then it is shit. Still not a terrible movie overall by any means but compared to Raiders it's not good.

Common criticisms are literal retard memes. The fridge, the aliens, who cares? It was going for a little bit of that "nuclear fiction" vibe rather than 30s serial, to fit in with the 50s setting, that was pretty obvious, especially by the way most of the early scenes are shot. The jungle is the worst part, everyone knows that, the CGI is just too much and didn't even look nice in 2008, I don't know how it's such a step down from ROTS for example. Other from that, the only really lame parts are Shia himself (never could act; Mutt is fine as a character) and Blanchett doing maybe the worst Russian accent ever by a talented actress.The aliens I could take or leave, it would have been better if there was more extraterrestrial stuff setting it up as I recall it coming sort of out of nowhere. I think it would have been just fine to have them be related to a Mayan deity too, but that's almost risking a retread of Temple of Doom.

I thought this movie was mid when it came out. But after seeing the last one where they shoe-horned that horrible English actress as the lead, Crystal Skull looks like a masterpiece. Movies have gotten so shit the past decade that it makes me nostalgic for mid movies like this.
