I loved The Return (love rafe) and think it's a better telling of the Ithica stuff, but I also really liked the Odyssey for the grander narrative. I'd tell anyone to watch both.
I've watched both and both were horrible, Nolan was obviously much worse though, hopefully the others will be better.
