They keep making a point that she's incredibly unpopular at school, and even random kids off the street call her a "freak" or look down on her like she's garbage. You'd think most people would see her as "That cool robot" or something given she consistently saves the town from destruction. You could still make a point in the show about how she feels isolated from most humans or struggles with being seen more as a weapon than a person, the expectations getting to her, etc. but that's not how it's written at all. People in the show acted like she was just an autistic retard wearing a robot costume that they had to put up with.
