Now, the critical drinker is a weasel. He gauges critical AND audience reception before giving a film a review. Something like Supergirl is a slam dunk. Awful reviews, bad boxoffice, bad audience reception and forced woke moments to make fun of. Now, that's easy. But The Odyssey is an entirely different beast. Yes, it has woke casting but those are minor roles. Other than that there aren't a lot of things to latch on to. He might complain about Penelope but then he risks being exposed for not having read the source material. Other than that, the themes the film explores are outside his wheelhouse. There's no clear narrative to latch on to. This film is critically acclaimed, it's boxoffice projections are going higher and higher. He can't do his usual "audience rejects woke Hollywood" shtick. So giving it a positive review is his only way out.

Reviews for the odyssey are the most astroturfed shit ever. It's people saying the cried during the last 30 minutes and all this other fake shit. I'm sure it's a fine movie but I'm also sure it's not amazing or anything either.

It's a decent movie. I enjoyed it here's what I'd say about. if you're going into thinking it's some kind of documentary then you'll hate it and autistically nit pick it. which is fair it's based on a shitty translationif you view myths as something malleable and told through the lens of the society that tells it then it's a perfectly fine movie. drinker has a business and an audience to cater to. I'd probably say most of his audience like him because he's putting into words how they feel about movies. yeah it's a heavy rage bait
