This film is so incredible it really pisses me off how retarded the Internet has become, to the point where it can't recognize a masterpiece.

First, about the black actors and the other races, I'll only say two things. The ancient Greeks weren't Vikings, so if seeing a black Helen bothers you, I hope you're equally bothered by every Hollywood historical epic ever made, from Gladiator to Troy, El Cid, Spartacus, or I, Claudius, all of which portray Mediterranean peoples with Anglo-Saxon and Germanic actors.

Second, even with black actors, this movie still represents the ancient Mediterranean better than any previous Hollywood film.

Now, after that disclaimer for retards. The greatness of this movie lies in many things, but above all in its epic atmosphere grounded in realism, where the fantastic naturally emerges out of Antiquity itself.

And above all, the film's greatest achievement is that it reinterprets the Trojan War through its actual historical context: the Late Bronze Age Collapse and the fall of the ancient eastern Mediterranean into the Dark Ages. The only reason this movie is getting so much hate is because the average internet user knows absolutely nothing about ancient history and can't appreciate how brilliant it is to reinterpret the Trojan War through the lens of modern archaeology while still preserving its mythological dimension.
Also, Agamemnon's entrance into Troy is one of the most breathtaking moments in the history of cinema. I've never seen anything like it.
