Yes, the Greek idea of a hero is different than ours (our idea is some good, moral character but in Greek mythos a hero could often be a total asshole but he achieved great feats). But we already knew he was making propaganda by making Helen objectively not-beautiful, hiring a wimpy woman to play a great soldier, etc. Even Matt Damon is a meat head and a horrible choice to play Odysseus, known for his cunning.
