If it isn't pozzed it might be ok, sort of like the Rogue One of the LotR movies. Im not holding my breath though.
>>
not a single tolkien fan could possibly want this film to be made

Andy Serkis does a fine job at crawling around like a little freak in his mocap suit, but he's one of the worst working directors in Hollywood. This will go down as an offensively bad and embarrassing piece of shit that will mark the lowest point of LotR media.

I still have doubts about this movie about if the part of the story they are going to tell is really relevant. I'm reading that they are going to tell the story of young Smeagol, but we already saw that, what else is important to know about the past of Smeagol?
>>
>>221864049
what's his story...
>>
>>221864049
I'm a fan of LOTR. I read the trilogy before the first movie when I was 11. I read later the Silmarillion and The Hobbit. The most interessing movie to do is The Silmarillion because it tells the story and the beliefs of Arda (the planet where LOTR takes place). You already see flashbacks of the birth of Gollum in the first trigoly and the story writed in the books has no more to tell than that expect that Smeagol (Gollum) has been banish from his village and it's not really interessing and important to know. It's also the period where Gandalf (send by the gods) put for the first time a foot on Arda maybe we'll see that and it so can be a kino.

river hobbit, killed his brother when they found the one ring that was lost when isildur lost the ring in the river when trying to escape and was killed, went insane, retreated to the mountains where bilbo finally found him and the ring that he too lost and then loses track of bilbo, gets captured by suaron's forces tortured and reveals bilbo's home was the shire and then follows frodo's quest to destroy the ring, eventually joining frodo and sam on their journey to mt doom and then steals the rings from frodo but falls into the lava and dies

>the Rogue One of the LotR movies
Oh, so it'll be a shitty retcon?
>>
>>221862992
It's probably going to be feminist trash.
>>
>>221864638
But they already did a Silmarillion movie, anon.
And by that I mean they took a character who's mentioned in a single line and doesn't even have a name and made an entire feature length film about her and her completely non-canon adventures.

This is like grandpa trying to show he's still got the moves. These movies are 25 years old, the actors are old and fat, who saw those movies are now old and fat, the only one they can still use is the ugly little mocap character. Oh and they're letting him direct because he did such great work on a Venom sequel. Didn't the audience suffer enough with the Hobbit?
>>
>>221864775
A shitty retcon that looks good in comparison to the pile of shit that is modern LotR content like the Amazon series or that stupid girlboss anime movie.
>>
>>221864712
Yes of course and does that deserves a movie just with these few sentences ? The 3/4 of story is already in movies
>>221864794
If you talk about Amazon. Idk I don't want to watch that and I will probably sell my books because I need money.
>>
>>221864712
nothing in your post is what the movie will be about btw
poor lotr
>>
>>221864794
i forgot that movie even came out
it was kinda boring
>>
>>221864049
I assume it is the part of Gandalf and Aragorn hunting for Gollum in the early parts of the fellowship of the rings when Frodo was dillydallying in Shire after getting the Ring from Bilbo. Gandalf had an inkling that the Ring was nothing good but had no way of knowing if it was the One Ring or something else.
>>
>>221865763
I still don't know if that part of the story is important enough to make a movie.
>>
>>221866501
It's the formula that's important Anon. After 25 years middle earth continues to make shekels so you will get eternal middle earth spinoffs and you will be happy.
