I work in STEM and there's a few people who don't have social media, even decent looking women sometimes, and their social lives and reputations seem normal. In more mainstream places, and especially zoomer-dominated ones, yeah I can imagine not having an Instagram where people can see your displays of social proof (friend groups, having a gf, traveling, doing fun activities, you know stuff that communicates you're a normie) will make people judge you or make it harder for you to be accepted. Harder, not a dealbreaker, but still.
