So many things were introduced to nuwars just because the directors relied on the concept artists so much. Mission Impossible, Star Trek, Star Wars. He has no style at all. Super 8 is even very much an attempt to just copy Spielberg/Chris Columbus. Just about everying associated with JJ other people did the actual effort and work. LOST was Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. Cloverfield was Matt Reeves. JJ doesnt offer anything when he works on a project himself. Seems to be a capable producer and should stick to that.

I feel like the Last Jedi should have ended with Rey joining Kylo to stop him from destroying the Resistance transports. It would have been a great cliffhanger just like Empire Strikes Back, satisfied the Reylo shippers, and Rise of Skywalker would have been a whole lot more interesting.
