He wrote the supes from a "realistic" human standpoint. They have delusions, a mean streak of narcissism/god complex and, as it is with all drugs, are constantly chasing a stronger high. All while acting all high and mighty for the cameras saving orphans from burning buildings and feeding the poor. And his Boys are there to keep them in line. Butcher was the first who got injected with CV, Mothersmilk(hence the name) was breastfed by his mother who accidentally got an overdose of CV, Frenchie rescued The Female from traffickers Dexter-style(sitting in a room splattered with the bloody remains of her captures) and has since been mute and Hughie lost his girl to A-Train and Butcher injected him with CV to give him a fighting chance at revenge. The Show and the Comics only share the names of the main characters and the basic premise. But are tonally radically different.
