>we need a futuristic-looking car for Robocop
>>221872907Robo cruising around in a plain old Ford Taurus cop car was one of the funniest parts of the original movie for me. Did they ever give him a Robo-Mobile in the sequels?
>>221873068Why would they? To broadcast that robocop is, in fact, elsewhere when the police show up?
>>221873068He had a jetpack
>>221873068No, and I'm GLAD
>>221873068Only in the toys.
>>221872907Tell me these cars ain't cool as fuck
>>221872907robocop doesn't fit in this car. peter weller was bottomless
>>221873388or pantless, whatever i'm esl
>>221873333checked, they're cool as fuck
My Mom had a Taurus SHO back in the day. It was a really weird car, but it was fucking fun to drive.
>>221872907This movie made me want a Ford Taurus forever.
>>221872907In 1986 the Ford Torus was the mots 'futuristic' looking car America has produced up to that point. The majority of American cars were all rectangular boxes with no real contouring lines at all. The Ford Torus was noteworthy for adopting European styling and including things like digital displays. It started the trend of the rounder looking cars in America. https://youtu.be/UFzqZxGcNHI

>>221873219I still think Back to the Future Part II stole the Hill Valley Police Car designs from the 1988 Robocop toy line.
>>221872907the cars and vans in that did look futuristic back in 87, I should know I got my drivers license that year
>>221874329>>221874547There were more futuristic looking cars in the 70s. The Taurus was chosen more because it fit the scuzzy and poor aesthetic of Detroit. OCP likely doesn't put much funding into new cars
