Why did Ripley make the huge risk of attempting to save Jonesy (a cat)?
>>221971875STFU pajeet
Being you, you'll never understand. Now go die alone somewhere.
>>221971875Sigourney Weaver was allergic to the cat in Alien.
>>221971875she lost her entire crew except jonesy. ofc you go back.
>>221971875Its a white people thing. You wouldnt understand
The shot of her carrying Jonesy in his carrier and the flamethrower is pure fucking kino. Making sure she could at least save someone is true courage.
>>221971875Jones had it in his contract that he couldn’t die on screen
>>221975457Oh, like The Rock.
>>221971875Food
I'm sure nobody in this thread would risk their lives to save a cat even if you love that cat a lot after seeing the alien killing everyone around you. You would run as fast as you can forgetting the cat. And just to be clear, I love cats. But let's just be honest here.
Between the two of them, only Jonesy was entitled to the bonus situation.
>>221971875Jonesy was the mastermind for them to walk away with the entire bonus. Why else do you think he stood by and did nothing before?
future jobs are corporate and alienating beyond what we can imagine, you can go slightly offcourse and lose 57 years in cryosleep just to make enough money to survive. family is nice but under those conditions the only thing you can get affectionate and attached to has to be with you 24/7
>>221971875It's a white person thing. Kitties are precious and sweet and friends. Moreover, they are one of God's creatures and as such deserve to be saved as God gave man dominion over his animal kingdom, so we must act responsibly and compassionately.
>>221971980>>221973872>>221976096OP didn’t mention race at all.
>>221971875Could Jonesy had feasibly defeated the chest burster? (The Alien when it was still in baby form)
>>221971875kitty cats are based
Jones was the reason she even made it that far.
It wasn't "a cat", it was her cat. Jonesy was sleeping with Ripley in the same pod at the beginning of the film.
The story and core screenplay for the 1979 film Alien were written by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. However, the shooting script was extensively revised by producers David Giler and Walter Hill, who added the android Ash and rewrote the dialogue, though they remained uncredited for their work. The Original Concept Star Beast: The script originally evolved from O'Bannon's early ideas and his 1975 screenplay Dark Star, initially titled Star Beast.Changing the Name: O'Bannon disliked Star Beast and eventually changed it to Alien after noticing how often the word appeared in his early drafts
>>221976280Jonesy was an android pretending to be a cat
>>221976280More evidence: a pic of Jonesy as a kitten is seen besides Ripley's terminal.>>221976145OP revealed himself as an incivilized subhuman when asking why anybody should show empathy for a pet.
Ripley and Jones made a deal to split the bonuses.

>>221976169I don't know man he was extremely fast and also had metal like teeth. Also his blood is acid. Jonesy was fucked, as soon as he bits or scratches him his mouth or claws go bye bye.
>>221971875The bonus was inside Jones. That’s where it was situated
>>221971875that's how it was written in the script. I'ts well known that humans have more sympathy for animals than their own peers
Why was this movie so fucking good?
>>221976654Animals offer unconditional love. Humans offer unfair transactions
>>221976356Fake news, probably spread by The Company.Don't believe their lies.
>>221976715the sheer comfiness of the ship contrasted with the uncomfy planet.
>>221976779How much did the aliens asked for in the sequel? 5% sounds fair.
>>221976306Star Beast is a very b-movie title and he was correct to change it.
>>221976779This is true of dogs, maybe. Cats are ambivelent at best.
>>221976306They reverted most of those changes, they were horrible.Adding an android was a good idea though.
>>221976169He could've killed him but only at the cost of his own life, the acid would've melted him
>>221971875The only crew member I would save and I don't like cats and I am extremely allergic to them also.
>>221976306>>221976880Star Beast makes it sound unintelligent, where Alien leaves it uncertain.
>>221971875Because crew is NOT expendable what about this specifically eluded your comprehension
The elevator scene where she gears up in Aliens and she is clearly terrified but she forces herself to put on a brave face before stepping it out is not only a testament to Weaver's acting prowess but how not woke she is. She's a woman, she's terrified, but she has literally no choice but to fight.
>>221977065the android was added by hill/giler. also all the bonus situation working stiffs stuff. also why do anons happily reply to pasted google ai summary snippets? should be a ban for it
>>221975883>Bonus>Technically an inheritanceJonesy is a descendant of Duchesse and Thomas O'Malley.
Reminder that Jonesy stayed in cryostasis for 57 years making him 60 years old in Aliens and the oldest living cat in existence

>>221971875Because at that point, she was like "I'm going to save something, goddammit".
>>221980086Did he film himself holding the cats while pointing to the skeletons of his unfortunate companions in their charred car?
>>221976470Third-worlder brain on full display. We love animals in the civilized world. Don't take it out on your pets just because your village doesn't have clean drinking water.

>>221975831>after seeing the alien killing everyone around you.Are you crazy I would have initiated the self-destruct procedure right after seeing the chest burster, and that's because I'm patient, the vision of the face hugger should have been enough.
>>221971875She thought that Jonesy would confirm her story to the company about what happened.Jonesy kept shut and enjoyed his fat bonus, while Ripley had to run loaders to make ends meet.
>>221971875Jonesy and Ripley were teammates. He didn't get a full share though. He also distracted the xenomorph.
(((wikipedia))) tried to blame Jonesy for Brett's death. >When the crew deployed motion trackers to locate the Alien, they detected and found Jones instead, who fled upon discovery. Brett was tasked with recovering and securing him; in the process, the Alien ambushed Brett and Jones watched as the Alien dragged Brett's body into the air shafts. There is a theory he was working with the alien.
>>221982343Why the alien didn't kill Jonesy? Aliens don't eat or what?
>>221971875
>>221982457I don't think the xenomorph could have caught Jonesy.
>>221971875u wouldnt get it, dikshit
>>221971875So lets discuss this bonus situation
did jonesy get a share?
>>221982587But he was inside the cat box.
>>221971875I'd go back to save my Thumper.
>>221982954Not the whole time.
>>221971875General > Jonesy
>>221983068There is a scene where the alien finds Jonesy inside the cat box he looks inside and he just leaves him there. I guess the reason is that a cat is too small to grow a new alien inside.
>>221982688I can see why he was upset. He had a couple few jobs.>pest control>companionship, relaxation and entertainment for the crew
>>221982571>he’s not just a pet — he’s a survivor

Came to post this >>221973872
>>221983655Since I can read a cat's body language, it's always funny to me when a movie tries to depict cats as being angry or villainous.
>>221971875>not taking huge risks to save the cutest things on the planetKike or jeet?

>>221983577>We're a dying breed.
>>221976470Dog-lovers base their whole case on these commonplace, servile, and plebeian qualities, and amusingly judge the intelligence of a pet by its degree of conformity to their own wishes.Catlovers escape this delusion, repudiate the idea that cringing subservience and sidling companionship to man are supreme merits, and stand free to worship aristocratic independence, self-respect, and individual personality joined to extreme grace and beauty as typified by the cool, lithe, cynical, and unconquered lord of the housetops. The dog barks and begs and tumbles to amuse you when you crack the whip. That pleases a meekness-loving peasant who relishes a stimulus to his sense of importance. And just as inferior people prefer the inferior animal which scampers excitedly because somebody else wants something,so do superior people respect the superior animal which lives its own life and knows that the puerile stick-throwings of alien bipeds are none of its business and beneath its notice.
I like both cats and dogs.
Look at this >>221985210 centrist cuck!
>>221985008If you could actually make it look like all those cats were in pounce-mode it would probably be pretty spooky
>>221976169Cats are extremely efficient predators when dealing with animals their own size but as other anons have pointed out the acid blood is a problem
