How can be Thor more scared about Doctor Doom than Thanos with the Infinity Stones that was unstoppable and wanted to kill half of the living beings in the universe? How can Doctor Doom be scarier than that?
>>
simple, unlike Thanos Doctor Dooms wants to rape him
>>
Thanos had the infinity stones for like three seconds there wasn't any time for a proper threat assessment
>>
>>221983629
thor hit thanos and he just died.
>>
>>221983672
All the most powerful Avengers couldn't win against Thanos and he did kill half of the universe. It was only after he got debilitated for using the infinity stones that they could kill him.
>>
>>221983758
Ok and as I said the time between him getting all the stones and using/losing them was incredibly short
Even more so if we're looking at how long Thor knew he had them all considering he went from the other side of the galaxy to axe in Thanos' chest in a blink
>>
>>221983629
He’s talking about the two universes smashing into eachother
>>
How many spinoff shows do i have to watch to understand this movie?
>>
Because it's trailer editing. Thor isn't talking about Doctor Doom in that scene, he's talking about the Multiverse dying.
>>
>>221983629
Just so you are aware, comics are not written to accurately and consistently uphold power balance. The person who wins only wins because the writer wanted them to. You are trying to look at it scientifically when there is absolutely no science to it. Doom is stronger because that's just what the writers wanted.
>>
>>221984425
it's a sequel to endgame
nothing else matters

>>221984425
Fantastic 4 for sure
Thunderbolts probably, Bob is just too big of a nuke for Doomsday to ignore
Quantumania is a maybe in case they joke about just dropping Kang, Quantumania sucks don't bother watching it
>>
>>221984425
who gives a fuck about understanding it?
go for the cgi action and for the stupid jokes
>>
One of the reasons they have to use the multiverses is to be able to add the Fantastic Four, X-Men and also Doctor Doom. Because they can't explain how they weren't present when Thanos attacked Earth. Weird because the multiverse is always to see other versions of the superheroes like when we saw the 3 Spider-Man but we always have the superhero present in all the universes. In this case the Fantastic Four, X-Men and Doctor Doom just don't exist in the main universe.
>>
>>221985051
>Because they can't explain how they weren't present when Thanos attacked Earth.

very easy to explain considering thanos attack on earth was a very short event.
In Infinity war he landed in wakanda, nobody could join that fight uninvited
in endgame the whole confrontation lasted like 1hour, not enough time to get there unless one of doctor strange wizards teleports you
>>
>>221983629
I cant believe the picked RDJ as Doom, this sucks
>>
>>221983629
Thanos just fucked up that one universe. I assume Doctor Doom wants to fuck up all the universes.
>>
>>221983629
Because Doom isn't a fucking retard like Thanos is
>Universe got too populated, life in danger of devouring itself
>Thin the herd with magic rocks to reduce resource pressure
>Proceed to destroy said magic rocks
>Surely that solves everything
That big purple nigger basically mowed his lawn then blew up the mower after he was done.
Doom told Thanos himself that his plan lacked in imagination.

Honestly, End Game was a very conclusive and definitive climax and end to many years of story telling in the MCU.
They probably should have closed the door, maybe a couple other movies to tie off any remaining loose ends. Like, I could have understood a subtle amount of additional milking of the proverbial cash cow. But they went whole hog into just tons of terrible spin offs they truely believed they could take a shit on a canvas and fans would celebrate because it was that popular at its peak. Plus the ever rising tide of left wing political propaganda being subliminally put into the characters, story, and writing just did a massive detriment to the non-partisan escapism of the movies. Soon as you go political, no matter left or right, youre gonna alienate 50% of your audience. Thats a terrible idea. The Eternals was kinda retarded, it basically made Thanos a good guy, didnt elaborate at all then left without explaining. Then they wanted people subscribe to Disney plus and watch an ungodly amount of terrible dialog and plot over HOURS. Then they wanted Kang, we know how that story went. Idk it was basically cursed ontop of just terrible decisions. Then they broke the emergency glass and brought jackman back with deadpool. Now theyre hitting the absolute new lows, theyre bringing all the jobbers in from the shit post end game mcu and forcing Captain America to come back and RDJ. They not only beat a dead horse to death, they turned it into a zombie and are now beating a zombie horse. Its like BRUH, just let an old dog sleep and get a new puppy, do and x-men cinematic universe with an all new younger cast that can carry the next two decade. Do Apocalypse instead of Thanos and copy pasta the original mcus playbook.
>>
He's probably not actually talking about Doom in the trailer dialogue, but the incursion that is happening right outside their window. If the plot leak was real, Doom will feign being an ally to the Avengers in the first half of the movie.

Part of me thinks it's a bit dumb, since his betrayal would surprise exactly zero (0) people. On the other hand, these movies are based off Hickman's Avengers run, and I thought Doom also came across as a scheming rat when I read some of his work. It's character accurate.
>>
>>221983629
Because his little bro Loki told him about how every grunt in the 4th dimension or whatever just has a completed infinity gauntlet in their desk drawer
>>
>>221983629

It's called Plot Armor
It is the strongest armor in the multiverse
>>
>>221983629
Because Thanos had conviction in what he believe he was doing, was right. Although wiping out half the pop would suck, life would move on.

Doom wants to destroy the multiverse.

Bit different.

They fucked up. Should've done a 1-2-3.

Should've had one movie as a lead-in for Doom to start making moves, then have him become a major threat at the end of that movie to build up hype.
Second movie is Doom bodying everyone while the "good guys" scramble to figure out how to stop him. Again, make the audience invested into solving the threat. And have Doom do some villainous stuff.

Third movie is everyone getting their shit together and a big fight.

Instead they're packing everything into one movie and stacking it with 50 "main" characters so everyone will have exactly 2 minutes of screentime.
Then the
>>
>>221989317
snapping fingers that wipes out loved ones indiscriminately across the entire universe is something the audience can understand

"destroying the multiverse" legitimately means fuck all since it's so abstract and the stakes are just bogus. especially since MCU already had that show and a couple of movies dealing with similar matters and it didn't really click
>>
>>221983758
They didn't face him together, Tony, Steve, and Thor were in different corners of the universe and by the time there was an organizes resistance to him he had all but the last stone.
You can never underestimate the power of friendship.
>>
>>221984425
Nothing. Just ask chatgpt to list all the new marvel characters added since the last movie you watched and describe them and you are good
>>
>>221990879
If I had to guess, Doom is from another universe, he shows up in the other universes trying to blow them up, probably so there can be an incursion, and the resolution of that would be rebooting the MCU to have the Fantastic Four as the first family, and mutants running amok.
>>
>>221985350
>I cant believe the picked RDJ as Doom, this sucks
There are a lot of murmurs now that either there is a twist that RDJ isn't playing him or RDJ is playing hm but not as an Iron Man variant that it literally is just RDJ playing a different character and when they unmask him people won't recognize him. Kevin Feige did a weird rant implying they are reusing the actor but he will be presented as the existing characters as a new person.
>>
>>221983629
Thanos couldn't even stop Stormbreaker from piercing his chest. The gauntlet in the movie is fucking garbage and only does one thing.
>>
>>221991202
The movie basically showed that Captain Marvel could easily 1 v 1 him and for plot convenience had to remove her from the story till the very end

They already did, that's the twist ending of Doomsday that will lead into Secret Wars.
Dr. Doom is actually the Kang variant, Victor (von) Timely, introduced in Loki. The overarching plot are his efforts to create an incursion of all multiverses back into the prime universe, sparking a second Multiversal War, and regaining his title of He Who Remains. Casting Robert Downey Jr. in a mask with an accent was the perfect cover to Majors' return.
>>
>>221984425
Fantastic Four First Steps, but that's probably it. It doesn't seem to include anything that's been in the shows.

>>221991121
Fantastic Four First Steps seems to imply that he's from their universe they show Latveria's seat at the international conference and it's empty implying that Doom took control there.

>>221991146
I really hope he's actually Victor von Doom and not evil Tony Stark.

>What makes you a god?
Being from Asgard and worshiped as the god of thunder.
In the marvel universe several pantheons of gods exist.
If you want the deep deep deep genesis lore, Asgardians were one of the earlier intelligent beings in the universe, but they were just sort of an amorphous blob.
One day that blob would find itself on earth in Norway. Early humans saw them, thought they were gods, and projected their mental image of the Norse gods which the blobs mimicked, and they quickly forgot they were anything else, and they began manifesting all the old norse mythology as real and you get the nine realms, asgard, the gods, and their prophecies.
But if you ever want to get into the weird cosmic meta physics of the marvel universe, check out Earth-X. It was marvel's crack at a Kingdom Come type story, (even getting alex ross to contribute).
Earth-X is basically the "end" of the marvel universe, where they sip ahead into the future where everyone on earth has super powers, the avengers and the rest of humanity couldn't stop it from happening, and the old heroes are just aimless since they're not needed any more.
Reed discovers there is something bigger going on, and over the mini-series it just goes deep into marvel history, tying up old plot points, bringing some deep cuts out of retirement, and things escalate until you get a pretty satisfying and impressive ending.
The follow up Universe X is pretty good. The finale Paradise-X isn't bad, but the ending feels a little rushed because they canceled the double-sized finale an had to wrap things up too quick.

The funniest part about her returning is that Thanos' plot armor is her and the collective band of superheroes in general having the IQ of a newborn lamb.
>Receive the gauntlet from Peter Parker, openly revealing his secret identity
>Stays on the battlefield, flying under twenty feet, and keeps trying to get the gauntlet to the mystery machine even though that would completely fuck up the timeline(s) moreso than they already were
>Could've just flown into space and used the stones herself, Thanos can't do shit at that point
>mfw
Amazes me that people actually like the Battle of Earth. Legitimately one of the dumbest, most anti-climactic sequences of events I've ever witnessed. Like the movie was already a piece of shit with the nonsensical Time Heist, and then two hours later THIS shit comes along. Fuck me.

At that point it was just about getting it away from thanos. Also an excuse for the super hero relay-race where you can give the side-side characters something to do.
>>
All the tension died the moment Doctor Strange went on gamefaqs with the time stone to figure out how to win at that point onward you assume he as manipulating things to get them there
>>
>>221991464

That is what happens in the first half of the fight. Tony, Cap, and Thor take him on together. They really should have given the Hulk another go at him as well.

>>
>>221991479
Yeah but I mean, that's where the question of who are the heroes and who are the villains starts really pushing the line, because the Time Heist itself was already theorized in-universe to potentially cause consequences that could lead to quite literally infinite deaths and destruction, and (((they))) do it anyway, even though they're AVENGERS.
Then when the chips are down, and they have a busted but in-good-faith plan to minimize those effects, they sell it just to save their own timeline's skin?
Fuck Thanos, especially the neutered MCU version, but fuck The Avengers too. By the end I wanted to see them eat shit.

Why did they send Steve Rogers of all people to return the stones again? Like in theory you need to return all of them (except the time stone) back to the exact zeptosecond they were removed, so shouldn't it be Doctor Strange? How the fuck do you even return shit like the Reality and Soul stones? What was even the significance of three stones being in New York anyway if they still sent three individual teams to retrieve them? Why did they all initiate the Heist at the same "time" instead of sending one guy, using one patricle, to try and retrieve as many as possible before trying again? There's really a lot of implications as a result of that goofy little setup that served no other purpose than to get the green jellybean into the purple prune's hand.
