Just saw Funny Games (1997) earlier.Holy shit.It was awesome; even if it's a depressing movie to watch. I've never been floored this way. Michael Haneke's cold direction helped a lot. Even if the film's message - THIS FAMILY'S SUFFERING IS YOUR FAULT! - is iffy & incomplete, there's a lot of things I enjoyed here.This is the first film I watched from Haneke & it looks like it won't be the last.Side note: I watched this film because my friends planned to watch horror films tomorrow because it's almost Halloween. I suggested this movie without having watched it since it's bound to be horrifying in a different way, even if I haven't seen it. I planned to watch it on my own in the morning & watch it again in the evening with my friends. I just decided to watch it today so I could watch 'Argo' before our movie night tomorrow.Thank God, I did. I can't imagine what this film will do to me if I watched twice the same day.So, what does /tv/ think of it, & Haneke's work in general?
