This film is fucking incredible. Solid 9.5/10. Outstanding.
It's a tad too long
It just gets better with age too, especially when compared to all the absolute garbage being released today.

I am an ex catholic Personally, I was impressed with how Gibson had each cast member perform their parts in the original Aramaic and Latin.However, that’s all I really liked about this movie. After watching it numerous times I can’t shake the feeling that it is racist. The Jews in this movie are shockingly bloodthirsty, they look and act like common stereotypes, and it includes common anti-Semitic dialogue.Let me know if anyone else thought so, or if I’m just overreacting.

When it came out, it was a major cultural event, and the public felt a certain obligation to see it. At the time, my college friend group consisted of a liberal or three, including a jew. We all made a point of sitting down and watching it together. I was the only one who had a kind word to say about it when we got done, the others had failed to register the dramatic point of all the nastiness (which is comparable to The Exorcist—it's a hard road, but in the end, good triumphs over evil). Basically, this post is my way of displaying my superior aesthetic sensibilities over those of my old normie friends.
