Because of this, they cannot enjoy quality films and tv shows that are character-based because they have no clue about how interactions with other humans works. Instead, they watch anime, where most characters have a personality that can be completely described in two sentences, and characters almost all fall into a certain anime archetype. This makes it manageable for the autists to understand the characters and their motivations. The characters also all behave in a very childish manner, similar to how the autists behave. The characters all have very exaggerated expressions and movements, often accompanied by other visual cues signifying their emotion, because autists are unable to pick up on more subtle social cuesLive action is much more complicated. You can't put the subtle intricacies of humanity into drawings. It's much easier to digest, even if it doesn't resemble reality
