imagine explaining to millennials in 2017 that apu is a generously positive stereotype of indians
>>222132885I told you before recording you're not allowed to bring this up
>>222132885He was dirty dalit
>oh look, it's "timmies missing cartoon cuck porn" o'clock again
How did India fuck up their reputation so bad in a matter of just a few years?
>>222132885>Imagine explaining to people born in the 1980s and grew up watching the Simpsons, that Apu was a good character Nigger, the only reason Apu was written out was because a wannabe Indian stand up comic wanted to be voice of him, and he threw a fit when it wasn't going to happen. Writing off the character instead of hiring an actual Indian to voice was the most based thing Fox could have done to spite that fucking retard shit eater
>>222132980Exposure
>>222132885SHUT THE FUCK UP SPAMMER
>>222132980They got internet access
>>222132980Have you ever interacted with one IRL? They're like a racist caricature come to life.
>random indian makes a shitty video about something is bad>one of the biggest shows instantly fucks over their show that 40 years old because of a random nobodyHow does he have so much power?
>>222132957There was no cucking here, Apu was having an affair. At least learn to shitpost properly.
>>222132980slop of humanity mass produced all brown and ugly while behaving nearly all the same
>>222132980> implying they had a good reputation.
>>222133185I think the showrunners at the time were already getting uncomfortable using Apu. There was a season 27 episode where Apu's nephew, who is very modern, calls him a stereotype and the two clash. I think they were trying to work through what to do with him but than the documentary comes out and they just decide it wasn't worth the drama they have enough other secondary characters to use.
>>222133185it was during peak woke, everyone was running for the hills the second a brown whined about something
Indians are weird because they arent that different looking from latinos, arabs and blacks, but somehow they are by far the most disgusting race to see at, worse than all the other 3 put together.
>>222132885the entire point of it was the stand up retard literally just wanted attention and used it as a launchpad to get a name for himselfHis fucking whole issue is 'he's not a real Indian born here like me' That was his argument. As an American, he didn't identify with Apu coming here and making a success out of his life so he was sad
>>222133992>it was during peak wokeI think woke is peaking right now, it's just not as explicit.Movies and videogames are both full of ugly women, blacks, racially ambiguous people, and most of all the subtle censorship (safe horny) that has become the default. Look at how any time a new movie or show is released and it's full of unattractive women with fridge bodies who show almost no skin, they'll cherry pick some frame with an ass that is nothing to write home about and any woman could have simply by being fat, spam threads with that cherry picked image and use it to pretend that the show appeals to men and there's no such thing as woke censorship and attack on beauty.
This guy made me hate Indians more.
Apu wasn’t even a bad character
>>222132885Millennial herewe totally thought they were amazing and still docuz they are!seriously though what the fuck is the point of this thread we all hate them and always have.
>>222132980they never had a good reputation
>>222134408We're in peak woke from the top but back then was peak public acceptance of woke
No one thought he was a negative stereotype in 2017.
>>222133927genuinely, how is being Indian, and speaking with an Indian accent a stereotype?India exists.
>>222132885>Self hating jeet gets rid of the last likable Indian character
>>222134612That's a lieIndia was seen as that mythical enlightened yoga land
>the problem with a poo
>>222132885For a character in a comedy show, he certainly wasn't negative.
>>222132885We knew Apu was a cool character since the early 90s
if you have a yearly season 1-9 marathon (as you should) it becomes pretty obvious they over-corrected (anticipated?) with Apu pretty quickly.there was no hard-and-fast rule about which characters had to be regulars, and which were just 'angry post office clerk' or something. Apu is almost OVER-developed: he gets this whole backstory and a computer science doctorate.without looking him up, tell me about the character Akira.
>>222135484Akira rides a red motorcycle and yells TETTTTSSUUOOOOOO a lot.Take that chud.
>>222132885Its the same with millennials getting upset over Cho Chang being a character in Harry Potter. They'd get mad about anything.
>>222132980
>>222135572Oh shit never mind akira was the body parts in jars.>>222135585Chang is.literally one.of the most common Chinese names, it's the Chinese equivalent of Smith.
>>222135585>millennialsDid not get upset over apu, you fucking retard. It was literally one Indian and it blew up in his face
>>222135662>defending millennialsYou're not people frfr no cap nigga
>>222132980People really don't like foreigners and it takes a lot of effort to convince them otherwise
>>222133175So NOT stereotypes? Archetypes. Fuck any Indian American, especially that asshole
>>222135662this type of thing must suck tbqh.>wow my documentary is gaining traction :D>nooo my documentary keeps training traction :(i remember quite a few wannabe Louis Therouxs in the 2000s. they'd make some self-fellating film about their 'journey' exploring a topic, they'd get bad reviews for it, then never make anything ever again. it's grim that we can no longer forget shit.
>>222135785Millennials literally grew up with Apu. No one thought he was racist until one faggot decided to make it about himself.
