I know this isn't what's commonly said about the show but, if we're to talke this movie seriously and look at it the same way we'd look at it as if it were real... Truman wouldn't have been concieved if it wasn't for the show. It's said that the mother signed a contract and THEN had a kid specifically for this purpose.
He literally owes his entire life to the show prior to his escape. Isn't Truman being mad at them for his upbringing the exact same kind of mentality as someone who is ungreatful to their parents for bringing them the gift of life just because they were poor or some other excuse. Why is it that with this show people are okay with that kind of attitude, but in literally every other circumstance it's condemnable?
>>
he is mad because all of his life was artifical and fake
nothing mattered
>>

They robbed him of the chance to live his own life. Even the one fleeting attraction he ever experienced is immediately thrust away from him and a wife is forced upon him. He's a slave.

>They robbed him of the chance to live his own life
He wouldn't have a life to begin with if it wasn't for them though, he literally would not be concieved if they didn't pay a surroagate to do it.
>he is mad because all of his life was artifical and fake
so exactly like this life is when compared to heaven?
>nothing mattered
his actions still had consequences, just not the consequences he thought they had. the viewers were effected every time he made a decision.

how is that not an argument? would you rather not exist at all, or exist but not under ideal circumstances aka not part of the 1%

In the Jean Baudrillardian sense, there would be no difference between the world constructed around Truman and the world “outside”. Both are inherently simulations that are far gone from reality and have no hope to return. It is a “desert of the real” as he says. In fact, in the world of a simulation, the only way to achieve any semblance of reality is by pushing the simulation to its extreme and going closer to the edge of where reality turns to simulacra. It is the same concept as what’s prescribed in Julius Evola’s “Ride the Tiger”.

Do you think if some impregnating children to create a fleet of slaves that it's justifiable because the children wouldn't exist otherwise?
Also your argument is wrong anyway because Truman was selected from a pool of six unwanted babies. Had he been adopted by a regular family who knows what he would have done with his life? At the very least he would have had some control over it.

If it isn't then you'd have to make that same argument for black slaves in america, that they should have not bred at all and let their race die out.
And from there you can instantly argue that modern families that raise children with high inflation and housing prices are immoral as well, that every western nation should just die out as well. And the logical conclusion would be that every man that isn't in the most ideal of circumstances should be morally forbidden from having children because they don't live in the 100% perfect world.
Truman Burbank may not have THE best circumstance, but his circumstance is way better than most poor people, including like 95% of africa and asia, you don't call those people immoral just for procreating do you?

The school doesn’t buy exclusive rights to wombs.

romanticizing the lives of neo, truman, guy from office space, guy from fight club, etc, is severely brown. Its seated in desperately wanting to be upgrade from trash to cattle. hell most browns even worship cows.

i like the part where they kill off or remove anyone he develops a genuine emotional attachment with just for ratings.

>you don't call those people immoral just for procreating do you?
If their sole purpose of procreating is to enslave their children then yes.
