I already knew the plot to better call saul since I had it spoiled numerous times before this year

I mostly regret watching it all the way through

I just watch those channels that summarise the movie in 10 minutes and I watch them at 4x speed.

if a movie seems not worth watching, why would you look up the summary? just move on with your life

there's a huge problem on this board that people think you need to have an opinion on every single thing. you don't. you can just not have a take on the mcu or the Odyssey and it's fine

"You gotta watch this but it only gets good in the second season bro".

There is a point there, because you don't need to consume every piece of media to know about it. I haven't read Moby Dick, but I know the general idea of the story enough to even understand whenever it's referenced in other media. One day I hope to read it though.
But the Reddit crowd are obsessed with knowledge, not out of the passion for knowing, but rather a consumerist obsession with hoarding pieces of info or data because they think it will make them smarter. This just optimizes their consumption, so it doesn't go against their goal of knowing stuff.

I do in most cases, I check premise, if it sounds ok even more so i flick through the trailer rather than watch the trailer, if it looks watchable I might check the plot on wiki before I decide to watch it.
i am not wasting 2 hours of my life watching some shitty CGI fest B movie.
>>
>>222299698

I would add flicking through the screenshots on imdb to get an idea of the cinematography, setting, and character style

It might seem contrarian has been adopted as a personality lately, but, it helps to remember that nearly every post on here is basically a psyop for sowing discord and infighting.

Russia is the main perp pushing culture war type shit. It was proven years ago, and it was in the Epstein files how Israel was involved with setting up /pol/ years ago. I'm sure China and probably the US government is somehow involved as well. The indians and other turdworlders have show up, but they're basically just annoying opportunistic ants trying to get at the crumbs. No one remembers all those fake twitter accounts that were exposed earlier this year showing the pakis and jeets lying for internet money.

Shit, look at the other reply you got, it's just something about how you didn't need to reply. No other substance, just a fight. Keep you engaged, angry.

Once you realize that an overwhelming majority of posts are only created by bad actors, it discourages you from even trying to participate.

Honestly, it's for the best. The internet has been co-opted by bad people, and it's really not worth our time anymore to even be on these places anymore. How can we have genuine discussions about film or TV when there's 12 concurrent threads about one particular movie, and they're just thinly veiled attempts at talking shit about trans people? Or black people? Or gay people? Or millennials? Or zoomers? Or woke? Or chuds? Or Reddit? Religion? Being too opinionated, or having no opinion.

The internet sucks now, and 4chan is one of the most compromised places. The sooner we just leave, the better.

This is my rule and it hasn't led me astray once:

Any movie that /tv/ is shitting on - I will avoid all trailers and discussion and watch it with full attention. Not even a browser open.

Any movie that /tv/ is praising - I'll watch the trailer (in 1.5x speed), skim the Wikipedia, and then I'll Google search "movie name explained Reddit", and I'll enjoy about 5 threads about it. It always turns out that /tv/ has inverted tastes, and reading Redditors correct the record makes me smirk when I think back to the shilling you all do here endlessly.
>>
>>222299698
>There's no reason to watch a movie except for cinematography, performances, soundtrack, atmosphere, and dialogue
I don't think any movie where NONE of those things are good would be worth watching in the first place, no matter how good the plot looks on paper.
>>
>>222299698
If a movie isn't worth watch then why would it be worth reading about on wikipedia?
>>
You know what? That's fine, but then people shouldn't get mad about media literacy or tourists. You reap what you sow.

He's so dangerously close to an epiphany about how Netflix produces slop that is not worth watching. He also thinks movies are just stories, and he is beyond retarded. Most movies can only tell simple stories and it's more about the performance, atmosphere, cinematography and the experience. A good film elevates you to an alien world that you escape to.

His conclusion really should be "Modern netflix is slop that is not worth watching" but he can't escape the matrix yet.

I prefer movies that aren't that popular. Ones everyone is talking about these days are easy to just find out from the trailer or by accident if looking it up. I don't mean unpopular movies but ones that are pretty good, but not rarely talked about. Not cult classics, not blockbusters, not B movies, movies that fly under the radar. They're somewhere between right under blockbusters and above indie films. Somewhere in the mid budget range.

This absolutely. I will get lost reading it for hours just jumping from link to link and then doubling back. I also have proudly edited over 400 articles in the last 18 or so years. Any time I see a little mistake or something obvious missing I add it or change it.

It all started when The Onion did a thing about how Weird Al's page was strangely devoid of major details of his life. Which then spurred people to make it a really thorough page. That may have been the first time I'd heard of it.

I also donate money to them every month. Aside from probably two or three unfortunate politically motivated things probably about genders and shit, you can almost always trust the content. Usually the experts of their fields are the ones doing a lot of the contributing and the community polices itself pretty well.

Of course the schizos will claim it's entirely corrupted by "leftists" or something. But those same pieces of shit will also be the first to link to "early life", for sad, bigoted reasons.

I fucking hate most of the people who populate 4chan now, whether they're just trolling or sincere. But as they say, 'you're here forever'.

This is unironically correct. But it begs the question what's the point of even doing that if those movies are so bland, uninteresting, formulaic, poorly performed, terribly shot etc. that there's no value to watching the actual audio-visual experience of it?

Why not just... not? You can basically write off 95% of movies from the title, tagline and cast alone. People should be spending their time consuming art, not sloptertainment.

What a weird bugman attitude. I've never understood these people that like to just read or watch a synposis rather than the movie. Movies are holistic, it's not just about the plot or the acting or whatever, it's how every element comes together alongside score and pacing and, fucking everything. You do not get the "same experience" watching a trailer or synopsis, and if you do, it must be an absolute piece of shit of a movie that was never worth watching, and if the movie wasn't worth watching, why would the synopsis be?
