It was fine. I saw it with my dad and the second act got so boring that he fell asleep half way through the movie. Action was kinda meh and I didn't really care for the relationship drama that takes up most of the film. Solid 6.8/10 for me.

last part tho, Jean is nice but it's only for set up for the upcoming films. fuck that
>>
The more I think about the movie, the worse it becomes. I know it does a lot of things better than the other MCU Spiderman movies but I definitely think it’s being really overhyped right now. So many issues with the script in particular
>Why is Jean depicted as a sadistic murderer who kills civilians and tortures Spiderman, but then the movie wants you to feel sympathetic for her as if she’s a victim? Meanwhile, Spiderman is depicted as going over the line for almost killing a cop
>Why doesn’t Jean just tell Spiderman what she’s doing from the start? He didn’t hesitate to help her after simply knowing the DODC lied to him, so imagine how easily he would take her side if she just told him about her sister from the beginning instead of mentioning it only after being tranquilized
>Why does Peter not ask for more info from Yelena right after learning who Jean is? Why does he wait until only after she’s arrested?
>The Punisher is a wanted fugitive. How the fuck is he just hanging around inside a hospital in public?
>How does Ned remember his handshake with Peter in the end? They’re not supposed to have any memories of Peter whatsoever. This was painstakingly established but then the ending just ignores it

Can someone explain why the old lady was so dangerous and being escorted in a tank? It was just Jean Grey that mindraped her, but why did she mindrape a dangerous woman and why was this dangeorus woman a frail old lady? Or are we supposed to think it was Jean Grey they captured? But why doesnt Jean just get out of her, shes not trapped in her body..? Or did Jean Grey intentionally mindrape her to commit atrocious crimes to lure Spiderman? But then how long was she fucking in her body for and what the fuck crime did she do to get her under that much security? Surely im missing something here and theres a simple explanation...

>>222311187
>The Punisher is a wanted fugitive. How the fuck is he just hanging around inside a hospital in public?
The obvious answer is that the hospital was more concerned with saving Spider-Man. The locals there probably didn't give a shit that Punisher was there or they weren't willing to snitch on him BECAUSE he saved Spider-Man. Yeah, Punisher shot Spider-Man, but they don't know that. As far as they're aware, Punisher might be the only person protecting Peter from whatever harmed him.
>>
>>222313790
>>222311187
>How does Ned remember his handshake with Peter in the end? They’re not supposed to have any memories of Peter whatsoever. This was painstakingly established but then the ending just ignores it
The handshake between Ned and Peter wasn't exclusive to them obviously. However, only someone close to Ned would know it. Ned puts the pieces together because Peter keeps appearing in his life and Spider-Man keeps saving him. When MJ said "Peter" when he was in their apartment, Ned learned that Spider-Man's name was Peter. And when Spider-Man approached him without his costume together, he was able to put the pieces together and realize that this man he kept seeing was Spiderman and Peter.

>>
>>222305916

>>
>>222314036
If any one at marvel gave a shit they would have tied it in to Daredevil and had Tombstone pushing to take over in the Wake of Fisk being arrested. As he's getting more high profile he hires Scorpion to deal with DD and Spider-Man should they ever show up.
>>
>>222305871
Please point me to the action scene you think is comparable to an action scene from Spider-Man 2. This movie has no SOVL and everything in it is weightless.
>>
>>222305871
It's not even in the same league as the Raimi trilogy. Probably better than the Garfield films, though not as funny as the second one. All these MCU flicks suffer from the same issues. Boring cinematography, terrible effects, lackluster action and a badly paced plot. The film felt like it could have ended after the battle in the office building but it just keeps going. The last half dragged so much and every time that talentless cunt Zendaya was on screen, I just zoned out.

Also all the POCs and lady police officers were distracting and instantly pulled me out of the movie. Like Spider-man didn't give two shits about any of the cars crashing during the opening chase scene but when he throws Scorpion into that one police car and they pull out Ms Layoff-the-donuts and Spider-man's all like "Oh, I'm so sorry", that's when I lost interest. That and he's pro-survelliance state. Fuck Disney.
>>
>>222305916
Holy shit they emasculated spiderman in his own movie with interracial demoralization propaganda, did holland ask for this personally
>>
>>222314575
>Also all the POCs and lady police officers were distracting and instantly pulled me out of the movie
It's crazy /pol/ brainwashing has lead to anons focusing on the most absolute trivial things like the race of random extras in what is absolutely the most siverse city in the WORLD by far in New York City. Like really anon, the race of random extras was pulling you out of the movie?
>when he throws Scorpion into that one police car and they pull out Ms Layoff-the-donuts and Spider-man's all like "Oh, I'm so sorry"
Anon that happened because he was having trouble controling his Spider mutation and it was causing him to be more aggresive and violent than usual. He was genuinely sorry because he didn't realize what he was doing. Maybe you really weren't paying attention.
>That and he's pro-survelliance state
Sort of: he used it to track villians for the sake of 'good'.
>>
>>222314575
>Like Spider-man didn't give two shits about any of the cars crashing during the opening chase scene but when he throws Scorpion into that one police car and they pull out Ms Layoff-the-donuts and Spider-man's all like "Oh, I'm so sorry", that's when I lost interest.

yeah this was stupid and needed more scenes of him being "unintentionally evil". but hey, instead of that we get more zendaya scenes
>>
>>222314601
The context is he runs into his apartment building basement where the laundrymat is, after tripping out from his spider mutation. He's in his boxers so he grabs whatever random clothes are in the laundrymat so he isn't naked on the elevator.
>>
>>222314641
That scene served an important purpose to the plot: it showed the mutation can take over, causing him to lose control and become truly violent.
>>
>>222314673
yeah I know but it's literally one scene peter accidentally hurts someone and the movie treats him like hitler which doesn't make sense
>>
>>222314702
>and the movie treats him like hitler which doesn't make sense
No, the movie doesn't treat him like Hitler. The fact is he's a masked vigilantly that sometimes causes a lot of property damage to help the city from villians, and without the mayor voiching for and protecting him he could be placed under arrest for the shit he does. Hurting a cop is going to cause a lot of bad clout with the city, and so she rightfully warns him if he does that again she may not be able to keep protecting him. This is a plot point in like every Spiderman movie.
>>
>>222305871
I think it was the best of the MCU Spiderman movies. I really enjoyed it.
I was kind of iffy on Jean Grey being the villian, but the more I think about it, they have kind of done all of the main Spiderman villians already.
Also, are the Xmen just in the MCU now? I am curious how they will explain where they have been all this time.

>>
>>222314730
But he hurts tonnes of people, all the time. It doesn't make sense that this one was special.

>>222314082
The only thing I didn't like was the constant random exposition about Jean Grey.
Instead of Spiderman doing some investigation or anything like that, he just looked up her face, and the database just spits out the name of the person he is looking for and her powers. Then, later in the film, he just calls Potatolady, and she tells him that Jean has a sister called Sarah, and that is what she is after.
The answers are just given to him without any effort.

Jesus christ, was this really necessary Fiege?
>>
>>222314890
Ikr, if he's ok with this what did he really have against the she hulk showrunner, it seems like he gets off on the humiliation
>>
>>222314854
>But he hurts tonnes of people, all the time. It doesn't make sense that this one was special
The movie is pretty careful to show that not only does he not hurt anyone from his own actions, he goes out of his way during an encounter with a villian to save them. Even besides that point, the difference when fighting scorpion is he ripped off scorpions tale and then swung it at a cop car for no reason, it was unnecessary violence, against a city offical (police officer). That puts the mayor in a major bind because she can't defend that with the police chief.
>>
>>222314632
>focusing on the most absolute trivial things like the race of random extras in what is absolutely the most siverse city in the WORLD by far in New York City
The black police lady that Spidey flirts with throughout the movie is not an extra. Nor are any of the other POCs with dialogue. Also I don't give a shit how diverse New York is, when Spider-man can't go two minutes without bumping into a black or brown, it starts to become propaganda. Like you don't see him interacting with Asians and Jews, despite them also having a large presence in the city. Where are all the Muslims?

>He was genuinely sorry because he didn't realize what he was doing. Maybe you really weren't paying attention
Maybe you weren't paying attention because he definitely wasn't saying sorry to all the civilians he could have saved when he was causing crashes during the opening chase.

>he used it to track villians for the sake of 'good'
Same excuse law enforcement use. Aren't you getting tired of kissing that boot?
>>
>>222313926
For me, it has some issues but it's the only Holland film where I felt like Peter Parker was a real protagonist and not overshadowed by Tony Stark or the other Peters. There's a major crisis, he steps up and gets shit done. The film just generally looks really nice as well. It's refreshing to have a Spider-Man film that doesn't look like greenscreen vomit again.
>>
>>222314924
Anon two of the main guards are Muslim, the one at the top of the roof it pretty clearly muslim. Mjs boyfriend is a jeet/muslim. His best friend is thai/samoan. There are tons of asian people all throughout the film as extras, cashiers, and lots of caucasians. Nevermind the main cast is white besides MJ. And flirting with the mayor? It's called being charming, being the 'friendly neighborhood Spiderman', but I guess I shouldn't expect a chudcel to know anything about charm or being friendly. I'd respect you more if you just came out and said you hate black people. In the opening tank chase he jumps out to save a kid. He webs up civilians to keep them safe. The tank was on a collision course with that prison, it was going to cause insane carnage and he actually prevented much of the carnage, or as much as he could. This wasn't different than any Spiderman since the Raimi films.

You're just hating to hate. Does it ever get tiring, being this negative and hateful all the time? Just purposely distorting the truth? I can't imagine living like that all the time.
>>
>>222314987
He didn't save the white guy that got hit by a car and he left that poor guy who was possessed suspended in a helicopter for god knows how long. I didn't see him save anyone when Punisher shows up and he's more concerned with him being there than the tank crashing cars off the road.

And I don't hate to hate. I'm just sick of everybody praising the latest shit pile that I know you're all going to forget about as soon as the next one arrives. All these Spider-boy films are boring and distractingly woke. Spidey doesn't even bully the villains anymore. It's just all cookie cutter safeshit for soulless normies.

BND is somewhere in the middle, best looking holland's spiderman? Yeah maybe, but it doesn't say much since other movies were trash.

The plot is as forced as it gets. Why SM becomes Man spider, why none of his friends remember him, why Jean is a villain, Why Hulk is even there. None of it matters at the end of the movie.

Best Holland movie for sure. I need to see it again, but I think it's the best Spidey since SM2. I like how all the side characters roles have thematic relevance to Peter's emotional arc throughout the movie.
>>
>>222314974
These are my exact thoughts as well. This is the first movie where MCU Peter has real struggle and real accomplishments and isn't overshadowed by anyone else. He finally feels like the main character and not just an accessory in his own movie. The movie is pretty beautiful too, making New York look like a nice place to live like the Raimi movies did. The end credits candid shots of New York really solidified that for me. Other than that the fights look like they have a lot more practical stunts and the spiderman suit itself isn't just CGI slop this time around, you can tell there is actually a guy inside of it. Tom is wearing it for like 90% of the movie as well which is nice, even the mask alot

>>Homecoming better than 1 and 2
I prefer Homecoming because overall it feels more alive and sincere as a movie. Everything is done right: Parker's character, the antagonism with the Vulture, the coming-of-age arc. The only thing missing for this to be a perfect Spider-Man movie is that stark suit should not have been returned to him at the end. Instead, he should have made a new one for himself, like in NWH. Raimi's movies feel more like epics or plays, with exaggerated imagery and overblown drama. They're more like Star Wars in that regard. Which is great too, but I prefer more emotionally grounded stories.
>>FFH better than NWH
FFH is overall just an average, while NWH is a rather pointless hodgepodge built on nothing but nostalgia bait.
>>

NWH was probably the worst one, because it spat all over everything that made the Raimi movies good. Norman isn't under Goblin's spell and Doc Ock wasn't mind controlled by AI. The fact that people honestly believe that's what happened in those movies is proof audiences are drooling retards. I didn't like the first two film but at least they were their own thing. NWH is like some bad fan fic, that doesn't understand the source material.

Usually the ones I’ve seen are ugly fat White women with ugly half black children or a skinny black man tagging along.
>>
>>222319833
>still somehow has access to any tech that he needs at a moment's notice
Incorrect. He created everything that he used in the movie. Spiderman is a turbo genius on par with Reed Richards and Tony Stark in the comics so this is consistent with the lore accurate Spider-Man that everyone has been begging for for years.
>still needs to be told how to operate by yelena
No? He used her for Intel. Yelena is a good source because she has experience with mind control due to her time as a child soldier in the Red Room where the Russians brainwashed her.
>punisher
He didn't tell Peter how to operate as a hero. He told Peter that he needed to man up and face the girl that he was hiding from. He's angry with Peter for running away from his loved ones because the Punisher would do anything to see his own loved ones again, which is unfortunately impossible because they're dead.
>banner
He went to the leading scientist in the country and possibly the world in biology. It makes perfect sense to ask Banner for advice on suppressing DNA mutation, especially because Banner is canonically already suppressing his hulk form with his tech. Why WOULDN'T Peter go to him for help? He would be stupid not too.

With what resources? He doesn't even have a job. Where the fuck has he gotten a 3d printer that creates universal DNA power inhibitors?
>He used her for Intel
Seeing him investigate for himself is much more compelling than cameo quip machine giving him the answer. The point is I want to see a Spiderman with some agency and independence.
>He didn't tell Peter how to operate as a hero.
The speech that he gives informs Peter on how to operate as Spiderman ie he decides to let Ned and MJ back into his life. Secret identities are part of being a superhero. Besides that he goes to Frank when he needs somewhere to hide MJ.
>It makes perfect sense to ask Banner for advice on suppressing DNA mutation
I don't understand your point. I'm saying I want a Spiderman story that doesn't rely on other heroes guiding him. The writers chose to write in a plot point involving DNA supression in part so that they could involve the Hulk. I don't take issue with the actions of the character, I take issue with the choice to write those actions in the first place.

KEK. That will never be true while Raimi/Toby movies exist. Also why do they keep making Jean an unstable femoid on the live action movies? Can´t they just do the phoenix force arc properly at least once? Not to mention it´d completely fit with the contemporary women victimization narrative as an allegory to rape. Jean was literally kidnapped by the rich elites and got her mind raped and broken in order to corrupt the phoenix force. What? They afraid of going cosmic or something? Also Peter dated Kitty, not Jean... it´s all just so tiresome.

I resent that capeshit can´t do proper adaptations not even by mistake. In any case it seems Raimi´s Spiderman will forever remain as close as it gets. Producers are such spineless fucks...

yelena only gave him intel which is fair she is a zogbot that works for the us government and peter is an incel in his room with just the internet. punisher literally didn't teach him anything. banner just said "building a universal inhibitor could be dangerous" and peter just ignored him, that isn't the same as what stark did for him.

Spiderman 3 is better than this nigger worshipping dogshit, are you fucking kidding me?
>>
>>222325930
They say the prison attack was the fourth security breach on the department
Is it not simpler to think that those other times had her try and fail to do something like that to any meaningful effect because she's a scared young girl not trained in tactical espionage, than to think that she's just a retard who didn't think of it?

I was unable to see it upon release at the kinoplex due to an influx of normies so hopefully after next weekend I will be able to join in this discussion
>>
>>222327123
why not watch it tonight? during the work week?

I want to actually enjoy it and not be tired from dealing with normies all day at work if you catch my meaning
>>
>>222305871
It was great but Frank and Jean were the worst parts. Frank was annoying and the Jean actress while cute can't fucking act.
>>
>>222305916
I watched The Devil All the Time yesterday and it was the first movie I ever saw with Holland after seeing him in everything and he does have potential as an actor but he is currently the Justin Bieber of Hollywood and going through so many humiliation rituals
>>
>>222305871
Annoying barely-sensical garbage. It's the 'Force Awakens' of Spiderman movies all the clueless retards are praising to high-heaven now, but will realise later on is lame shit with big problems.

See y'all in 12 months when the dust settles and you're not blinded by hype and box office, comparing it to previous capeshit, and your brain finally catches up with reality.

This furfag is right on the money:

As a confident, masculine white man, I'm stoic and have a powerful, unshakeable mental state, so trivial things like this have no impact on me.
If this scene bothered you, it's possible you're an Indian masquerading as a white man on the internet.

I watched it today, and there were so many kids, like literally under 16s. Felt like a dinosaur in there. I'm 30+
In contrast to Endgame, the audiences were mostly >20

Spider-Man is really the only superhero kids can feel connected to nowadays. Batman, the 2nd most famous superhero, is nowhere near this popular.

Yeah I really don't want to deal with kids for 3 hours while my kino is playing. I'm thinking early Sunday morning is my best shot for having a little space to enjoy the show
>>
>>222316045
isnt it the same floor girl from earlier in the film
>>
>>222327614
Plus, they cheered loudest during this particular scene with MJ. Like those teenage girls when they watch cheesy Korean drama. It was 2nd hand embarassing

At that moment I knew Spidey wasn't for me anymore
>>
>>222308688
it would have been a nice touch if in the 3 spider-mans film after holland gets bodied by goblin bully maguire easily beats him. i mean even aside frm.being 2x his height and weight its a case of spider boy / man
>>
>>222308584
really didn't do anything with it so just lazy gay allegory.
>>
>>222327807
During the movie he clearly takes a lot of inspiration in Tobey's spiderman to keep going.

They just couldn't help themselves and took advantage of his twink femboy look. Holland is like a Zoomer Björn Johan Andrésen
>>
>>222327614
Kids are the main target audience for this movie. The exact same ones who watch picrel. Everything about this movie says it was made for toddlers. Holland himself directly confirmed this.
>>
>>222315079
google the director
>>
Why did Spiderman swim in the pool with the crazy lady?
>>
>we were robbed of 2010s-core corpo-indie music video director kino TASM3 in favor of
>MCU Spidey 4 is the first good one
Cursed timeline

look up sissification, anon
>>
>>222305871
It was awful. Worst than ASM
>>
>>222305871
It was ok.
I went and saw it alone, something I hadn't done before, and I consumed a bunch of alcohol before entering the theater so that I wouldn't feel so insecure about it. I didn't do it right so I spent the 2nd half of the movie feeling more and more dehydrated and not enjoying it very much
>>
>>222305916
>Normalfags like OP love this shit
>>
>>222314646
That’s not the point. At the start of the movie the girl hits on him (>>222307232), but he ignores her. Later in the movie, the same white blonde girl is bringing a hood nigga to her house and they catch Peter wearing her clothes. It doesn’t matter that he had a “good” reason to wear her clothes, that scene is clearly appealing to sissy and BNWO fantasies.
>>
It was boring. Thunderbolts did a similar gimmick of going into people's brains to see depressing things like a year ago. Marvel ripping itself off
>>
It narrowly beats The Amazing Spider-Man 2... and that's only if you're not counting all that multi supe shit like Civil War.

This is how normal people look at trannys. Based Marvel, mental illness fagshaming is back on the menu.
>>
>>222328909
>Actually you see this Woke Propaganda is actually based and Redpilled, guys!

And here some the Cuck shills trying to defend their cuckshit.
>>
Should I watch the Disney+slop Punisher series? Will it explain why Spiderman is so buddy buddy with a violent unhinged thug that shoots rockets down a busy street? Sure he's funny but it's like watching a movie where the Rhino is Spiderman's quipping sidekick and Spiderman doesn't give a shit about what the Rhino does in his free time
>>
>>222328909
Let me guess, you believe Superman was about Israel? And that Get Out was actually redpilled and pro-White? And James Cameron is actually a pro-White Christian?
>>
>>222328997
If you gay enough to pay to watch >>222305916 then just bite the bullet watch Disney’s Punisher, cocksucker.

So are MJ's and Ned's memories of Peter gone forever or did Peter doing the handshake with Ned unlock the memories? Could Peter ask Jean to bring their memories back?

>>
>>222305916
This is the most beloved movie of all time to Americans by the way.

Really explains the American mindset.
>>
>>222329035
>ned knows spiderman attended or worked at his highschool in queens
>ned knows spiderman made a concerned effort to save him and MJ on multiple occasions
>ned knows spiderman's name is peter
>peter introduces himself as peter the 2nd time and he completes the handshake from muscle memory
ned makes the connection that this peter is spiderman and that they must have known each other in highschool because of the handshake. he doesn't unlock his memories
>>
>Tom is shorter than Zendaya
>Tom is also insecure and has a rule where they must pay each other 50k if the other kisses someone else during filming

How long do you think it'll be before she divorces this insecure manlet? I bet she's waiting for a baby to be in the picture so she can get him paying child support
>>
>>222328997
Haven't watched season 2 so dunno if the Spiderman stuff happens there but season 1 was good.
The Punisher in the movie is nothing like the one in the series desu
>>
Can that mystery meat mutt Zendaya be written out of the MCU and can Jean be Peter's new GF?
>>
>>222329469
Peter Parker isn’t allowed to have red-headed White love-interests anymore.
>>
So how come Jean couldn't control Peter at the beginning?
>>
>>222324725
Dafoe returning was good just to have an actual true blue villain who's just straight up evil. So sick of MCU's constant sympathetic anti-villains
>>
>>222305871
Why? How was it better than the last 3 holland movies?
>>
>>222329723
Spider sense . I ain't going to explain shit
>>
>>222329783
Mysterio was evil as fuck though
>>
>>222329803
At the very least the plot wasn't caused by Peter being a massive retard the whole movie like in the others
>>
>>222329934
then how come it didn't work when his senses were enhanced?
>>
I still don't get why Doctor Strange didn't take 5 minutes to explain the rules of the spell and have Peter tell him who he wants to keep memories before doing the spell.
>>
>>222305871
Beats Raimi 3, the garfield movies and the prior holland films. Still has issues tho.
>>
>>222323753
>Also why do they keep making Jean an unstable femoid on the live action movies?
Sounds like the most comic accurate MCU adaptation desu senpai

It's on par with Spider-Man 3
SM3 is overhated
>>
Why didn't she just mind control someone from Damage Control and use them to get to Metzger when he is alone, then get in his brain and find out about her sister instead of doing all these attacks on DODC facilities?
>>
>>222331228
she wanted to cause chaos
>>
>>222330887
Spider-man 3 was not that bad.
>>
There were so many homosexual undertones in this film
