But the general perception of Miles seems to be that he's a good character, even though he's literally just Peter with a different coat of paint, like a recolor forced on you in an online fighting game when you get into a mirror match. Seriously, they have nothing particularly distinctive about Miles except his skin color, and that's BY DESIGN! He's meant to replace Peter because they cant make anything new, and can only steal and corrupt what exists already.

They're taking huge risks with all these race- and genderswaps, with handing male properties over to women, etc. Not to mention the enormous budgets handed out. Hollywood creatives fucking hate straight (white) men with a passion but they still need them, the preferred classes, to consistently show up en masse to make the hate work economically and they can't even be bothered to do so
