What have you been watching? Normally I rewatch movies I've seen but have been watching war movies I hadnt seen recently.A bridge too far isnt bad. Good cast, score, and effects. Does have me wondering what the last good big budget world war 2 film was.
I went on an anime kick and watched Berzerk and am working on Paranoia Agent. It's interesting. Japanese are kind of embarassing about stuff yet kino at the same time.

Watched Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, was kinda mediocre to be honest but the Technicolor was gorgeous.

32, 33 in a month.On a whim, I've been watching the Wizard of Oz, followed it up with Return to Oz and am probably gonna watch The Wiz next. Wizard and Return were nice movies, in very different ways, obviously. Wizard was whimsical and funny and I enjoyed the stageyness of it. Felt like watching a broadway musical. And I can kinda see the influence it had on David Lynch. Me, I'm still an Alice in Wonderland guy, but I liked it.Return to Oz was an interesting follow up. Such a weird, subversive take on the material. Doesn't quite have the production that some other expressionist fantasy movies from the time, like Labyrinth or Legend, had but the sets, puppets and costumes were still really neat. It's cool it exists. Feels like the primary inspiration for the American McGee Alice games.

Mid 30s and I exclusively watch anime now. I haven't even been watching anime as a teen or in my 20s. I started watching anime in my late 20s because it has no niggers in it. I watch maybe 1-2 actual movies per year, when I find some older gem that I haven't seen yet, I've torrented Iphigenia (1977) recently and I'll watch that the next time I'm in the mood for a real movie

watched early pixar movies lately, everything up to toy story 3 except cars (seen it before thought)the incredibles got the best humor and action, ratatouille got the best protag. the talking dogs in UP were really funny, but the movie starts too slow. wall-e was cute, but the part of the story taking place on the spaceship wasn't that engaging. a bug's life was surprisingly lacking in creativity compared to the other pixar's. toy story 1 is good but visually dated. toy story 2 was just a generic search and rescue type movie, and toy story 3 felt like a reimagination of 2. monsters inc. was perhaps the best concept, but the baby character got annoying after a time. nemo had the worst "villain", just a random scuba diver and his dumb ugly kid.tier list:A: ratatouille, the incrediblesB: wall-e, toy story 1, monsters inc.C: toy story 2, nemo, toy story 3, UPD: a bug's life
