Didn't watch. How did they stretch a 2-hour movie into a whole season of television?

>Max Cady isn’t a white trash rapist, he’s a charismamaxxed genius who effortlessly seduces everyone he meets.>Max grew up in Cape Fear with his abusive father played by Ron Perlman and his psycho sister Crystal played by Juliette Lewis, with whom he had an affair.>Max dumped Crystal to marry another woman. Crystal killed Max’s wife and unborn son and framed Max.>Anna Bowden was Max’s lawyer in this version, and they had an affair during the trial, leading to her pregnancy. When she realized Max was a psycho, she convinced him to take a plea deal to send him away, and passed their daughter Natalie off as being from her ex-husband.>Tom Bowden was the prosecutor in this version. He and Anna ended up getting married and having their own kid, Zach. Natalie is a closeted lesbian, while Zach is depressed over getting cancelled for sharing nudes of his girlfriend.>Max is assaulted in prison, gets a metal plate placed on his head that causes him to have visions of his dead family.>Max convinces a deranged ex-girlfriend to falsely confess to the murders and gets released from prison. He then begins tormenting the Bowdens.>Max is aided by Naveah, another daughter he had with a prison guard, who seduces both Natalie and Zach.>Max uses mind-altering drugs to brainwash Zach into believing himself to be the reincarnation of his dead son, and turns Natalie against Anna by revealing himself as her father.

I turned it off during the 4th orchestral swell in the first episode.
I usually complain about these made-for-streaming shows only 8 episodes. This was 10 episodes long. It really should have been like 2 maybe 3 episodes, which is a movie. The two film versions are very good but there isn't much story beyond 2-3 hours. It's so long and every episode had to have a hook to make you want to watch the next one. The result is getting 9 TWEESTS. A twist is only effective once maybe twice in a story, more than that it's comedy. That's why soap operas get mocked. I was onboard for the first new idea the show did, Max being innocent/actually reformed. then by the time we get to like Max and Anna fucked around the time she got pregnant was too much. It got ever soap opera-ish, revealing who was who's father.Fuck. The Simpsons parody episode was better and that was like 20 mins.
