Is Hellboy 2 capeshit?
>>
It's alright.
Yo, little Donnie aside.
>>
>>222312158
>Mike Mignola reported told del Toro [regarding the script and story idea] in a rather heated manner: "What the fuck does any of this albino elf shit have to do with my fucking comics? Its fucking Hellboy, not your personal platform to explore generic fantasy."
>The two were later reconciled over the script after going out for authentic Mexican tacos.
>>
>main character wants to fuck his sister
wow, he's just like me
>>
>>222312158
No it's a fantasy adventure movie
>>
>>222312158
I don't know, but I found this guy to be a genuinely sympathetic villain.
>>
>>222312158
I liked the nazi knife scientist in 1.
>>
>>222312158
>comic book film
>hurr is dis capeshit
Yes you faggot. You liked watching capeshit. Don't beat yourself up about it
>>
>>222312236
tbf, not like the artwork in hb didn't suck major ass. GdT didn't have much to work with.
>>
>>222312158
Yes. Crooked Man isn't, tho.
>>
>>222313336
Crooked Man is barely even a movie
>>
>>222313379
It's grindhouse kino.
>>
>>222313398
It's a cheap youtube tier piece of shit they made to retain the right
>>
>>222313456
Nope. Directed by Brian Taylor and got a 20 million budget.
>>
ITT: genuinely sympathetic bad guys
>>
>>222312158
This is genuinely a good villain. I don't think it's capeshit but I havn't watched a marvel movie since civil war so I might not be the best guy to judge.
>>
What was up with him and his sister???
>>
>>222313719
Stuck in a shitty comedy flick.
>>
>>222312158
No, but it is a lame Hellboy adaptation and a shitty Elric ripoff.

>>222312236
Mignola worked on him and the character was later made into a spin off story for the comic, set outside the canon given the main story has a definitive ending and is over in the comics.
>>
>>222315118
Are the comics any good? Looking for something to read gang
>>
>>222312158
>mc challenged the antagonist by claiming that he's demonical royal
>lost
lol
lmao
>>
>>222312158
i spose. its a comic book, its a comic book movie. no cape stuff tho
>>
>>222312158
Yes. This is capeshit too
>>
>>222313719

He wanted to maintain the purity of the royal bloodline. This is pretty standard Monarchy stuff.
>>
>>222312158
kinda. visually no, but the plot was dumb as rocks.
>>
>>222315891
>Ugly lesbians in the comic just like IRL
>Beautiful heterosexual women playing them in the adaptation.
>>
>>222313719
He wanted to put his stormbringer inside her.
>>
>>222315781
the main Hellboy comics are good
the B.P.R.D. stuff start strong but after Arcudi left there is a noticeable dive in quality
it's still worth to read all the titles in publishing order
it pays off at the end
>>
>>222312158
>Is hellboy 2 based?
yes
>>
>>222312158
We need and ELRIC movie
>>
>>222312158
The dark fantasy black market lives within me aesthetically. Whole movie has steeze.
>>
>>222312158
"capeshit" wasn't really a thing until 2012 when The Avengers came out and the MCU exploded in popularity. Before that, superhero movies were just regular movies, but then they evolved into what we today consider capeshit. 2012 was also the year the term was first used on this board.

The thing that annoyed me is the way they left out Nuada's silver mechanical arm. They did get the part of the Tuatha De Danann getting driven to live underground right, though.

I don't think you understood how massively popular Batman 1989 and the early-00s Spider Man and X-Men movies were.
>>
>>222315891
Should I watch this?
>>
>>222317290
On a scale of 1-10 how much do you like lesbians
>>
>>222317339
It doesn't bother me that they're lesbians, and Lea Seydoux is hot.
>>
>>222312158
Would Nuada cum if Abe fucked his sister?
>>
>>222317435
>It doesn't bother me that they're lesbians, and Lea Seydoux is hot.
>>
>>222312158
cape kino
>>
>>222312236
>generic fantasy
what an uncultured retarded swine. They're the Tuatha de Dannan. I'm fucking Australian and I know that. Christtards are genuinely some of the dumbest fucks on the planet.
>>
>>222312418
if he fucks his sister does that mean he also fucks himself?

slam dunk a knife-ear baby into the trashcan

>is a movie based on a comic book capeshit
you tell me
>>
>>222317912
Based
>>
>>222317992
Okay, I'll tell you. This one isn't.
>>
>>222315781
Overall yes, but it's the kingdom hearts of comics, in the sense that to know the full story you have to read one million different spinoffs, a reading order list is absolutely mandatory. If you ask me, once you reach the point when the main story ends (you'll know when you get there) you can stop bothering with anything released afterwards. At least that's how I did it.

>feel more pleasure so then she feels more pleasure so then he feels more pleasure so then she feels more pleasure...
it would be like a nuclear meltdown of orgasmic pleasure
>>
>>222312158
no just tedious

>>222312158
Yes, its absolutely jewish capeshit.
You can tell because the "villian" is right about everything and he's stopped by the jewish demon (played by a jew) in a blatant power fantasy.
>>
>>222312236
Comic hellboy sucks
>>
>>222312158
yes and so is blade
>>
>>222312236
>authentic Mexican tacos.

Taco bell?
>>
>>222312515
This. I also liked Blade, The Mask, Spawn, and Men in Black.
>>
>>222320242
>by the jewish demon (played by a jew)
I don't see a problem here. As long as they aren't trying to larp like some kind of saints or Aryans, we're good.

>>222312158
It's a solid fantasy flick. Very well made from all the technical stands of point.

yes but they still had villains that were somewhat based on actual villains in real life instead of some purely fantastical/biblical cringe

The movies don't capture the spirit of the comics at all, and are basically their own thing.
>>
>>222312158
Ron sucked complete ass, but the brunette is still pretty hot by the time they made this. I would have eaten the fish man.
>>
Why did this movie feel like a letdown?
>>
>>222312158
no its capekinorama, a rare genre of films that exist.
>>
>>222312158
No, it predated capeshit in the modern sense though it had proto-elements of it, they hadn't metastasised into the hot garbage that would come later yet.

These were good films and probably Perlman's best roles. The later Hellboy stuff without him was garbage.

Based Mignola, this is how I always felt about Hellboy 2. Good movie, but way too much fairytale shit, it really just felt like Del Toro was hot off Pan's Labyrinth and wanted to put his own trademark on the IP. The occult X-files vibe of the first film was better.
