I thought it was absolutely perfect. Jimmy redeemed himself to get back the respect of Kim and accept the punishment of his actions. He knew he'd eventually be up to no good again on the outside. And he's got respect in the can. He'll have all sorts of legal advice and probably kind of run the show in his own way.

I know people here will disagree, but I never questioned how any of the Vince stuff went or ended. I just loved those shows so much. Been a fan of Odenkirk since the 90s.

I agree, a perfect ending imo. Jimmy was completely empty by this point, and even if he took the 7 years, all of the shreds of his life would be gone by the time he got out.

Why does the ending filter so many people?

He clearly understood that he's a piece of shit through and through that can talk his way out of anything so the only way to "do the right thing" and permanently remove himself from harming people he cared about was to go to jail on purpose.
If he continued more people would get killed or hurt, including Kim. One way or another it would happen since he can't stop slippin. He couldn't trust anyone, not even himself to stay out of trouble. He even tried restarting his life and laying low and he still started slippin anyway

In fact, it makes absolutely no sense. It's meant to be this redemption arc that sort of makes sense but then it all gets thrown out the window in the bus scene.

He isn't Walt, Anon. Saul was always portrayed as kind of pathetic, that's his whole character.

It's a perfect ending. It perfectly puts down the core theme of whether a person can really change by setting up the stakes really well

It sucked and was entirely out of character for Kimmy or Saul to just up and be like "Wow come on you guys are really gonna follow the law for me to get away with seven years?" The idea that he should condemn himself forever because someone might sue Kim is completely absurd even within just the logic of the show when Saul himself could have advised her from prison, she could have great representation, etc.

Also it just entirely absolved Kim of any comeuppance for her own shit while putting it all on Saul as if he was the only bad guy instead of having a balanced ending where Jimmy gets time for his crimes but also because of his competence he manages to reduce it, while Kim also potentially has to pay for how she basically ruined Howard's life and got him killed.
