Why is it so hard to find good movies to watch?
Any tips?
I use sites like letterboxd or best similar movie recs or even streaming sites that link to similar movies but it ends up being either a list of movies I have watched already or complete B movie tier shit.
Do you think it is just possible to actually exhaust good movies, specifically when looking for a genre/category of movies?
I end up spending more time looking for movies than watching them, and even when i watch them I end up watching more movies i have seen before than new ones.

All the seats to spiderman were sold out so i saw motor city and i really like it, probably more than i would have liked spiderman. I have amc stubz so i skipped the concessions line, made a middle aged woman seethe. The only other person came in 20 minutes late and keft 5 minutes before the ending.

Great sound track, but not a single sentence spoken. Not even kidding.

Go by the biggest discrepancy between critic voting and fan voting on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s how I find gems.

I didnt mean new movies which are in most cases completely shit, we have barely had good movies for a decade with possibly only 1 or 2 handful of movies actually worth watching.

How do you filter by that?
Goes without saying sites like RT and IMDB are fucked now by bots and political activists. Like when that burger negro died from a drug overdose in the USA during the pandemic, they activists made black panther (marvel movie, not even a good one) the literal bets movie ever created on RT...
Cannot trust reviews at all, could never trust critics, mainly fart sniffers and now even IMDB reviews where you could generally look for the 5-7/10s and 3-4/10s for good and bad opinions respectfully. It of course was bogged down by bots spamming 1s and 10s but now wants you to sign in to data scalp.

Its why i simply mainly use best similar movies, it has categories and you can click on a movie and it will search similar movies, hence the name of the site.

I'm an old man so i still use bittorrent and TPB

So do I. Though I use an aggregator over TPB itself.
Streaming in most cases I only do it for some shit like a 30 min TV show I will watch once, like I watched the last episode of the recent season of rick and morty yesterday on a stream site.
Just some stream sites have if you click X movie it will show you loads of similar movies to that, which letterboxd also does or there is a similar site I use for anime, forgot its name.
All to get suggestions for something new to watch.

I use YTS and click on an actor/director name to see all films they acted in/have directed.
Always find a decent movie to watch using this method. Mostly forgotten 2000-2015 straight to DVD stuff.

This is a good idea, i have found good movies by just searching an actor or directors filmography on wiki.

There's no end to the movies I haven't seen. Even if I had the time/energy to watch everything that seems somewhat interesting I don't think I'll ever run out.

I used to feel like i had seen everything good and i started dating a girl who is a film buff and she has shown me a lot of great movies i never even heard of. There are so many movies out there and so many books written before ai. Enough for my lifetime and several more.
