I just don't understand percent based tipping. You order a $20 bottle of wine vs a $100 bottle. The service is exactly the same. Why does the server deserve more money for doing the exact same job? Same with food, if I order a steak vs a grilled cheese sandwich, the server's job doesn't change, but they make more because the steak cost more? It makes no sense.

This usually comes out to a couple of more dollars for the entire tip. I leave my calculations on the receipt to justify so the waitresses don't get upset. I also write "get a real job if you don't like it" on the receipt to make sure they don't get uppity.I only do this for women though.
