Just makes me want to go see it more. Thoughts /tv/?
>>222320367has this guy made a single good moobie?
>>222320367I was thinking of pirating this to check out the practical effects. Until I checked out his filmography and realized he directed the Borderlands movie. I'll pass.>>222320383Keanu getting raped by Ana is maybe his best work.
based off of what everyone has been saying apparently it's derivative of a handful of much better movies, and it's a really poor one at that. Also, the other thing people really seem to not like about it (besides it not being very good) is that I guess he makes a lot of use of some very obvious generative AI. audiences really don't like that, but that's mainly because the public in general really REALLY don't like that. And that's not even getting started on his extremely vocal support for the state of Israel. So that's three pretty damning things this movie seems to get wrong based on all the reviews I've seen:>it's a really bad rip off of some much better executed movies>he liters it with really bad AI>people are aware of his views on Israel and don't want to support him because of that any one of those would be bad enough, but by putting them all together it was never going to make it from the start
nooo don't lick my cone
>>222320367>it's gettin heckin dunked on! it ain't bussin fr frshoot yourself
>>222320500>Borderlands movieI’m surprised they hired an actual little girl instead of another post-wall hag to play as a little girl
>>222320367Saw it for MMM, it was pretty good except there is smoking in it so I hate it. Cute lolis(though I can't find the name of the loli on the poster to look for her insta, shes very prominently featured in the movie), nice effects, basically Crossed with kids and no weird sex stuff because kids. The people in the theater did laugh at some scenes that clearly weren't supposed to get laughs>>222320504>makes a lot of use of some very obvious generative AILike what? The animation sequences? And also who cares?
>ICE CREAM?>YOU SCREAM!
>>222320671>Like what? The animation sequences?no clue- I haven't seen it. That's just the main complaint I've seen from all the people on tiktok and ig that have been panning it. Or rather, *one* of the main complaints.>And also who cares?apparently pretty much everyone who bothered to see it, because I haven't encountered a review that's failed to mention it and how much they didn't like it's use. literally look at any review of it- they all talk about how there's a bunch of generative AI in it and they really didn't like it
>>222320504>support for the state of Israel>movie seems to get wrongYou people are worse than the chuds seeing a black person on screen. Does a character turn to the audience and say, “I stand with Israel!”? The very idea that the director disagrees with you makes you seethe so hard that you can’t watch a movie.
>>222320383The Hostel movies were OK. But they're horror, which means they're for retards and the bar is lower.
>>222320836As far as I'm aware israel isn't ever brought up in the movie, it's just that Eli Roth in his personal life has been really publically outspoken with his support of the state of Israel. And basically everyone in the country fucking hates the state of Israel. So when he comes out with his new horror movie and it gets marketed really prominently as being made by him it makes people not want to see it because they don't like his views on genocide.
>>222320743So its a complaint but they don't point to what it was used for?>>222320836Disagrees about supporting murder
>>222320836I don't want my money going to a filmmaker who enthusiastically supports a genocidal apartheid state. It's no more complicated than that.
>>222320383Thanksgiving was unironically a really good slasher
>>222320918>So its a complaint but they don't point to what it was used for?if they did I didn't make a note of it (I wasn't aware there would be a quiz) but I just see a lot of movie reviews because all my algorithms have figured out I like movies, and literally every single one at some point cites the use of generative AI as being a big problem for them with the movie. Hey listen, if you really love AI slop, then by all means go see this movie. Because based on all available reporting it's littered with it
>>222321033I literally already saw it for MMM, thats why im asking what part people are saying is AI. It has to be the animation sequences, i can't thunk of anything else it could be, which look fine so I don't how it is a complaint>Because based on all available reporting it's littered with itThere's like 5 or 6 short animation sequences showing like the cartoon fantasy the crazy children are seeing while doing the killing.
>>222320383Nah. The only reason he still is in the business is, that he knows Tarantino, who seems to like him.
>>222321133doesn't Tarantino literally live in Israel (at least part time) these days. Not a huge shocker two giant zionist supporters that are famous for ripping off better movies seem to really get along together
>>222321185He lives in Tel Aviv with his Israeli model wife, yes.
>>222321199he must live in a bunker these days if he stays there
>>222321185>Not a huge shocker two giant zionist supporters that are famous for ripping off better movies seem to really get along togetherTruth. Fucking KEK.
Pffff, Armond White is going to love it.
I want to watch it, because I like evil little girls
>>222321530You'll love it, mmain ice cream loli is great
>>222320383The original Cabin Fever is excellent, but that's it. He was a one and done filmmaker with one great idea and everything after that is garbage
>>222320951>not muh hecking wholesome mudslimes
Saw a screening. It's funny and mean spirited. Everyone will hate it.
>>222321014shut up Roth
>>222320367admitted to using AI it deserves to burn and flop
>>222323806>boob + pit
>>222321575Seriously and even that is a tad overrated. But compared to the rest of his work it's a masterpiece. He has to have incriminating tapes of high level executives to have worked for 20 years and make shit after shit
>>222320504>because the public in general really REALLY don't like that.Because they don't like being fooled. You can see it on YouTube comments. Whenever there's an AI video you get positive comments until someone points out it's generative. Then the hate flows. People, no matter what, really truly hate being deceived.
>>222323988But thats when it is being presented as a real person or a real thing that happened, y'know trying to fool people. Which since the person who brought up AI cannot specify what in the movie is being called AI I have to guess its the animation segments which, again, look fine so I don't know what the issue is
>>222320367>Just makes me want to go see it more. Then you're a retard.
>>222320383No.
>>222320367He really only makes amusing trash
