In Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome during the gladiator duel scenes where Max fights Blaster, Max manages to knock Blaster's helmet off and is about to deliver the killing blow when he sees his face for the first time (picrel). Upon seeing his face, Max drops his weapon as if shocked he was about to kill an infant or something. Why did he react like that? Is it because he thought Blaster was mentally retarded something? Why would that matter in a post-apoc where Blaster was moments earlier trying to bash his skull open?
>>222321839After seeing how ugly the dude was, he realized death would only be a mercy. He kept him alive to prolong the suffering.
>>222321839Yes thats why.The implication is he didnu nuffin and was just coaxed into killing people by master but is too retarded to be held accountable.
>>222321839It was love at first sight. Max ploughed Blaster's ass day and night. >Ain't we a pair, raggedy man

>>222321893That makes sense, but how could he tell that just because Blaster is ugly? I mean he doesn't exactly have an autism or extreme retardation written on his face. I have a buddy who looks very similar to Blaster and he's fine, so it was weird the writers made the character like that.
>>222321839because killing retards isn't a moral high ground
>>222321839Hello Abdul, in christian cultures, hurting a simple minded person is a sin.
>>222321984Did Mel just rip ass?
He previously thought blaster was a giant strong guy brutally killing people, rather it was master manipulating him as a tool and he didn’t understand what he was doing
>>222322050>just because Blaster is ugly? He's a downie, that's the face of a person with Downs syndrome.
Because he has the mind of a child and isn't fully in control of his own actions. I think it's also implied that master never really actually ever had him fight before, that it was all just a bluff for them to survive this hell world. But I haven't seen the movie in a very long time.
>>222322050Im pretty sure the actor has down syndrome, mad max must have picked up on this
>>222322104Even the master is a victim, in the train part when he puts on a suit you can immediately see that he was a chemist or an engineer before the apocalypse who had to play by the new rules to survive, he wasn't evil for evil's sake
>>222322193How was he ever evil in the first place? For opposing auntie and her tranny army?
>>222322050> he doesn't exactly have an autism or extreme retardation written on his faceanon if you can’t recognize mental retardation at a glance, you’re the one who’s mentally retarded.
>>222321839It's funny that afterwards, the movie treats master as a good guy all of a sudden. It's seen as a happy ending that he gets away with all the children. It's a bad thing though since he is smarter and more devious than all of them. He'd shortly be back in power and controlling the whole group. He'd be back to his old ways running things with an iron hand very quickly.
Didn't he have a tard family member or something like that in one of the earlier movies?
>>222321839Either he was shocked Blaster was a tardie, meaning killing him would be similar to killing a child or Blaster was the ''slow thinking guy'' from the 1st movie, which could also surprise Max I guess. Cool think about these movies is you can take various interpretations depending on your liking.
