What movie or show was the biggest victim of its own success? I legit believe the sequels, spin-offs, endless parodies and pop culture references legit made The Matrix a lesser film. Its impossible to experience what this movie was vs what it is today

I was you along time, yet rewatching the uncolor graded version brought back the awe of the movie. Its one of the most eprfectly written hero journey's ever including Reeves who couldnt have been a better fit. His naivety really sells this shit.

Usually a sequel is just a rehash of an original, and I think the Matrix sequels deserve credit for not doing that. The first two sequels are okay in my book. But FUCK Resurrection, that was terrible.
