This is oddly one of the best films I have ever watched (animated or not), and it's sad that a LOT of people will miss on it due to being, not just anime, but also a movie with a cast of characters from a long running series so you need to be familiar with the characters to fully appreciate it (think FWWM)But honestly even without knowing the Urusei Yatsura lore this movie can still be enjoyed by anyone because the themes it touches are primal and existential for anyone to be able to understand.It may be the most rewatchable movie ever

Beautiful Dreamer was one of the Anime Sci-fi channel showed in the 90's for their anime film festival and is was introduced by Apollo Smile "The living Anime girl". I rewatched it recently and it made more sense to me in my late 30's then it did to me as a kid.
