Watched this a couple of hours ago. It was okay. Just okay. As others have said, the PS3 boss fight means that the film ends poorly and leaves you with a negative final impression.To say one thing in defence of this film and the two before: I don't think Evil Dead 2's style of Stooges-plus-gore humour would be marketable in the present day. Horror flicks typically target younger audiences - which is why jumpscare shit is so prevalent - and most zoomies don't care for like the corny and dated capers of Bruce Campbell.Yes, Ash vs. Evil Dead got made and had its fans, but that was a nostalgia show for older people who grew up with the originals. It was also on Starz and made on the cheap. When making a theatrical horror for da yoof of today, the current trends will have to be followed to some extent.

Each one still holds a grudge over the old family baggage, and when they voice those grievances, they are speaking in earnest. It's not demonic mockery, they are genuinely angry about the same things that made them angry before possession. The line between human and Deadite is confusingly blurred here, and I don't like it.

My gf and I turned it off after the opening scene where the dude gets fishhooked into the water... it was just pretty obvious it was going to be a nonstop relentless series of brutal murders from there on out with little to zero storyline even bothered to be woven in. It's obvious every character was going to die. The set up with murdering random irrelevant characters sets the tone that nothing matter, there is no storyline necessary, just gore and kills.What a shame. Love the original trilogy. And although I've never been super fond of the 2013 reboot, it's far more enjoyable than this was. I thought Rise was a huge step back in the right direction too so to tune out after 11 minutes of this one is so disappointing. So happy I didn't buy a movie ticket and hold myself hostage to seeing it in a theatre
