I went back and read a lot of the mid/late 80s Batman weeklies and they were kinda lousy. Spidey was much better during this time. Batman gets better in the 90s and the best Batman stories like TDKR mog the best Spidey ones but every issue was him and Robin taking down a villain in an issue or two and it gets boring fast. Batman has better cartoons and films. Games are pretty even I guess I dunno I haven't played all of them

I think if Batman understood the spider sense he'd just release an onslaught of traps and gadgets before landing a good blow. Whether he understands it though, that's the main point. Batman rarely loses the same fight twice so Spider-Man would need to get him in the first one. I guess it would also depend on the circumstances of the fight. Are we talking a friendly rivalry or does Batman think Spider-Man is a threat? It will set the context for what Batman preps for.
