Is it any good?

I was about to watch this, because someone told me it was Twilight Zone but with naked tits.

I'm sold

2nd creepiest intro behind Tales from the Darkside.
>is it any good?
No. None of the twilight zone knockoffs are good.
There is TZ and Hitchcock, that's the list.
>>
Yes.
Like any anthology series from the 80s and 90s there are some episodes that are absolute kino. There are some episodes that miss the mark.
It probably isn't a series I would binge but it is worth checking out
>>
>>222333204
Hitchcock you mean the show, right?
>>
>>222333226
Correct yes.
>>

Haven't watched it since the 80's on HBO but remember liking it a lot.

Don't listen to this pretentious weasel. Plenty of anthologies have merit... even Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? was decent
>>
Well the theme is based as fuck, so that makes up for anything the actual show lacks
>>

He asked if it was good.

For me it's Tales from the Darkside. Show covered a wide range of approaches from the twisted Grither Christmas story to stuff like "Going Native" that could be a short art film.

It's not a Twilight Zone rip-off. It's a stillborn Tales from the Crypt. There are even few episodes that ripped stories straight from the EC Comics. Hitchhiker's episode "Split Decision" is clearly the original "Split Personality", which was eventually filmed as an episode of TftC with Joe Pesci.
Some episodes are kino, some are stinkers. But at least it looks like an actual series (filmed on locations, decent HBO budget most of the time) and the episodes are roughly 30 minutes long, so they don't overstay their welcome.
If you want to see a weird transition between cheap and campy Tales from the Darkside and somewhat prestigious (in their own way) Tales from the Crypt, check it out.

my first encounter with full frontal nudity
>>
Hit or miss. Some of my favorite eps include
>a bag of drugs keeps moving throughout the city until it ends up with Gene Simmons from KISS
>a guy gets stuck in a time loop after going to a diner with his wife
>videodating ep
First few seasons were on HBO so there was some nudity every episode just because they could do it. Later seasons were on USA network.

The first episode of Stargate was on showtime and they had tits just because they could. They'd throw them up there to remind you what you were paying for.

fucking hell you awakened a dormant memory

There's also The Outer Limits, Tales from the Crypt, and a few episodes of Monsters. The intro to The Hitchhiker is 1000x better than the actual show though. Unsolved Mysteries ripped the theme off and did it better.

Anyway, yeah. The show is terrible. I must have came across it 1000 times flipping through channels and I always turned it off within 5 minutes or so. The intro mogs but the show is awful. It's even lower than The Hunger.

Night Gallery isn't as good as Twilight Zone but it's still got a lot of good segments.
