I'm so glad Gunn saved DC and that audiences are #embracing the #Hopecore Superman people always talked about wanting to see online
>>222332624Kind of why the movie failed. Superman was refreshing last year because wasn’t trying to be edgy. Yet this movie is le edgy girl boss drunk Supergirl brooding
if they want to make a movie like that it would work better with a sexy bimbo actress similar to how superman is a gigachad
>>222332683>Superman was refreshing >and it didn’t failWho’s gonna tell him
>>222332624Dont care. Watched the movie. Think Milly is cute as fuck. Pre-ordered the 4K.Will watch her next movie. Cute little Australian goddess.
>>222332747Superman was refreshing until it became gunnslop, not sure what your picture is suggesting
if it's unpopular does /tv/ now have to start calling it kino?
It's odd that Milly Alcock in interviews seems a lot more fun and charismatic than she is in the fucking movie
>>222332812Many such cases
>>222332800I genuinely liked it more than Superman 2025 but that's just because it's a generic Guardians clone that doesn't try to pretend it isn't (like the 2025 Superman) Alcock Supergirl is also very blatantly a different take on the character and doesn't try to pretend it's "comic accurate" when it really really fucking isn't and has legions of tiktok zoomers online saying it actually is "super comics accurate" (again like 2025 Superman)
>>222332624So it did about as well as 1984 supergirl.
Another humiliation ritual flop. Way to go hollywood
>>222332624Spiderman made literally a billion dollars in 2 days so theres no such thing as superhero fatigue
>>222332771It’s just a random pictureThe movie was abominable and you have abhorrent taste and judgment if you think anything to the contrary
>>222332878You seem to be of very sound mind
If Superman had actually been the massive hit those articles claim it was, Supergirl would have fared much better at the box office. The studio banked extremely hard on Krypto and Superman for the Supergirl marketing campaign because they genuinely believed those elements were huge crowd pleasers that would guarantee seats. They tried to ride the coattails of the first movie and it clearly did not work. The reality of modern franchise filmmaking is that these superhero universes compound on each other. When you have a genuine hit, it builds hype and guarantees a strong opening weekend for the next installment. On the flip side, when a foundational movie flops or barely moves the needle, it actively hurts the entire brand going forward. Supergirl paid the price for Superman failing to actually connect with the general audience, regardless of what the corporate damage control tries to say.
>>222332891Thanks I know
>>222332981Superman was good because of the actor and his chemistry with the hag Lois. The only set up for Supergirl was her being really unappealing at the end of the movie
>>222333057How the fuck can you look at a spineless wimp and a generic domineering feminist career woman with the sensibilities of a twitter user “chemistry”You must be a fat Mexican monstrosity
>>222333145You've clearly never had chemistry with a woman, hence your impotent rage about someone saying "that movie was good"
>>222333190If that movie had been good, people would have watched Supergirl. Specially when the marketing couldn't stop showing Krypto and Superman in the trailers and teasers. The truth is that nobody cares about this version of Superman.
>>222333190there was no chemistrymen can only have chemistry with feminist if they rape themIf you are a man trying to be in a relationship with a feminist, that is not chemistry, it’s you being pathetic and desperate
>>222333378>men can only have chemistry with feminist if they rape themSo true sir
I tried to watch it today. It's unwatchable.
Sometimes a good movie isn't a good movie.
>>222332800How do you fumble a shot like this? Even if she wasn't an alien with powers the timing is so off its unbelievable.
OH NO NO NO NO NO
>>222332981This is the part capeshit fans refuse to understand. If people actually loved NuSuperman they'd have shown up just to see more of that universe. Instead they saw Krypto in the trailer and went "oh right, that thing" and stayed home. You can't astroturf "crowd pleaser" into existence. The audience either gives a shit or it doesn't. DC is still radioactive and now they're going to pretend the solution is bringing Snyder back to do another 4 hour funeral commercial.
>>222332624Think the higher ups gave gunn a call when news came out that Spider Man did a billion in 3 days?
>>222332624Saw this POS for free. It truly is awful. It's filled with shitty jokes and smarmy reddit dialogue, along with grrrrl power scenes here and there, like when she gets her powers back and screams, but everything is silent. Just painful to sit through
>>222333796Please, don’t go back. You wrapped up your tenure on a high note with ZSJL. Don’t try to be nice and do something just to help James Gunn. It would be a terrible idea, and nothing good would come from it.
>>222333708The joke is that she's drunk anon. Of course her timing is off.
